zkillboard or other killboards

Hi again.

First I wanna make clear that I'm not PVP enthusiast, so I spend most of my time in hisec, but I will defend myself if attacked. So basically was what happened. I was running some anomalies in between missions and some guy tried to gank me. Yup he tried but failed. I was able to destroy his ship but left the pod intact, even tried to contact him to give back some of the T2 gear his ship dropped. Latter I went to check zkillboard and that kill was not counted, then I googled for other killboards and nothing either, so can anyone explain? It happened yesterday 17:52 (gametime) on Balle system.

EDIT: how do I change a player status towards my corp or myself?

Open the kill report you got when you killed the player, right click on the tiny square in the upper left corner labeled kill report, select copy external kill link, go to zkill, select post, paste the link in the box and submit.

You can add the player as contact, or its corp, with the desired status from the character info.

and honestly you are too kind. The guy tried to kill you, you destroyed his ship, why do u want to give him back the loot from his wreck? it is yours!

Were you in Hisec at the time? If so concord likely destroyed him rather than you.

If not, remember that Zkill doesn't have everyone's API and so it can have gaps. Potentially because neither that pilot nor you have ever given an API to zkill it did not update automatically and one of you must enter the report manually as mentioned above.

Well, was an interesting experience. My ship is fitted only for pve. I was salvaging the wrecks of the anomaly when the guy attacked me. I kept salvaging and sent my drones after him. Toook 5 seconds :/

Yes, that was most likely not an intentional attack by the person you destroyed. The Arbitrator is not normally used by those looking to suicide gank someone in highsec. Looking at his fit, he most likely was running anomalies just like you. Unfortunately for him though, he had fit smartbombs which are an area-of-effect weapon he was likely using too close to your ship, your drones or your wrecks which is an illegal act and brought the wrath of CONCORD down upon him.

It would be very kind of you to return his fittings, and if you chat with him, suggest that he not use smartbombs while in highsec. He should unfit them and return his safety to green so that accidents like that can't happen in the future.

Good effort dude :)

You got the kill report because you landed the final blow, however you will see on the killmail that Concord did approx 83% of the overall damage. As has been mentioned above, we think he smartbombed you or your drone accidentally and became flashy to you at the same time he was dropped on by Concord. Concord will have taken upward of 20 seconds to show up due to the 0.5 security status of the system, unlike in a 1.0 system where they would have shown up almost instantly.

Kill is a kill though, you were nice to give him his stuff back Pirate

Oh damn, didn't noticed that 83% dealt by concord. I was wondering why my shield not even flashed. Well, I tried to return his stuff but he never answered.

Actually, I believe he was an inexperienced pirate, yes. I remember when he arrived the site was already clean, I was salvaging it. Also if you check his profile on zkillboard, he lost 2 other ships on same day.
