Things happened, people who lived in one place moved to another. People who lived there moved somewhere else. This happened a few times, and nothing's really changed.

Everyone living in [insert area of space you're not in] is utterly irrelevant, doing nothing anyone cares about. The people in [part of space you're in] are mostly idiots, but there's a few decent folks who seem to be ok. [Someone you don't care about] went and [past tense of verb you don't care about] to [other people you don't care about].

And a whole lot of people got their knickers in a twist over it all.

Nah, but without relevant context, specifics get difficult. For example:

How many years are you asking about?
Are your interests primarily in developments in Low-sec? High-sec/ Null?
Exactly who did you know (the complete individual list) so 'oh, this person turned out to be relevant in X, that person went and became a complete drooling mouthbreather' can be done.

I mean, with however many trillion people there are in New Eden 'hi! I've been done for an indeterminate amount of time, what'd I miss?' is.. uhm... really, it's so vague, the only way to answer properly was by being just as vague.

Hmmm.. how are we doing... well, generally speaking, we're rich beyond the dreams of avarice—provided that's what we're after. Really, making money is ridiculously easy right now. Yes, there was a large war, a lot of people started off by being upset, and it seems like most of them get even more upset when I say things like:

Losing that war was probably better for us overall than winning the prior 5 wars/conflicts/"invasions" had been.

But it's true. We're bigger, stronger, more focused again, richer, and generally better off than we were beforehand. Part of that is geography, of course. With the new Aegis system, it's far better to be as condensed as possible. 30,000 pilots across 5 regions was just asking to lose it all. It could have been avoided, of course, but you know, you can't make people take the smart choice if they're still convinced that the old ways work just fine.

But you know, the swarm adapts, life goes on.
