It's predictable to some extent but never ever stable. Then again how you you describe stable?

Okay, so I got home and checked Perimeter which has the best prices in the citadels between Jita and Perimeter. The price tonight is around 1.4 billion. Maurasi has even better prices at 2,765,000/unit for a cost of 1.385 billion for 30 days game time. Further, this taking off like a rocket thing...yeah, calling Bravo Sierra on that one too. The price seems stalled at around 1.4 billion ISK for the last 3 days (using the median price). Some rocket.

There is no story here nor any reason to think that PLEX are going to rise in price like a rocket. OOG supply of PLEX is perfectly elastic. That is CCP can sell as many PLEX as there is demand. The following graph shows the OOG PLEX market. Note that with the changes CCP implemented they have also increased the price from $20 to roughly $22. This has the effect of moving the supply from the red horizontal line up to the blue horizontal line. The demand curve does not change so people buy less PLEX Q2 vs Q1.

So what does that mean in game? It means there will be less PLEX being sold and the price will be bid up. As I noted in another thread at around $23 and holding the ISK to dollar conversion rate fixed we could see a price just over 1.4 billion. Instead we see a price just under 1.4 billion ISK.

I know these days everyone is in a perpetual state of outrage, but this...this is not it. The increase in PLEX price is not outlandish considering that there has not been such an increase since they were introduced in 2008. Inflation alone says that the price should be around $23 here in the U.S. Go find something that is worth being outraged over...not a perfectly reasonable price movement in a video game.

Due to the no tax nullsec the richer get richer. Check out RL its kinda like eve online just more players but same economics.

What average Joe does not get it that someone paid those real life money for him. People complaining about the prices not being low enough for them to play for free (if you don't think time has value), are a bit spoiled brats IMO.

Why should I get very little for my RL money (Lets face it the one putting out real money is the one who should benefit the most.)?

What you guys are saying is that you want someone else to get as little as possible for actually putting up some money (something you are to cheap to do), so you can get something without paying for less effort. Long live entitlement!!!

Also tbh. it is still ridiculously easy to earn that isk. You just don't want to roll up those sleaves and do some grease work do you? Lazy ********

Edit: just be happy you have tho possibility to buy game time, with in-game currency. That is a nice luxury

I'm not sure if YOU understand how the plex market works.

people who can afford to plex their accounts, generally do (most people who plex accounts usually keep at least their main account subscribed normally for various reasons, like I do)

now because of that, it means that the increase in plex prices has actually hurt the hardcore multi-account player MORE than the casual.

for a casual player looking to plex just 1 account, its an extra 200 or so a month, that really isn't that big a deal. hell i've been in null-sec for 2 weeks and accidentalied half a billion in salvage and exploration because I was bored. that more than pays for the difference.

but, for the "hardcore" player, the ones who keep 5, 10, 15+ accounts and characters training, it has hit us much harder.

I only have 8 plexed accounts, and that 200 means an extra 1.6 billion per month... and y'know what i did... I absorbed the difference and passed it on. this is why injector prices have gone up (and probably will continue to go up now that they are split-able)

It is simple supply and demand, demand increased do to easier accessibility, and more things to use it on without any appreciable increase in supply, and the injector market followed shortly after (since it is directly tied to the price of plex)
plex are now divisible, which will increase demand with no appreciable increase in supply, again the prices are going to go up.
if you are an injector farmer, now is a good time to be alive, if you are wanting to get into the injector market 2 months ago was a good time to start, but you can probably still catch the tail end of it. if you want to get good isk for your plex, now is also the best time to buy for cash and sell... and if you are trying to plex your account off of HS mining... well hate to break it to you, but NEVER has been a good time for that. try looking into other ways to make isk.

I don't see any Perimeter buy or sell orders... and in fact, there seems to be very few sell orders from citadels. But there ARE buy orders.

Someone at Frarn - 0% ☆ IChooseYou (near Rens) is trying to buy 1190 nuPlex atm and someone at Azer - YOUR EVERYSHORE (INVENT & BUILD) (near Dodixie) is trying to buy 5557 nuPlex atm, for instance.

As of now, the above citadel buy orders I just mentioned are the top buy orders (2.705m and 2.701m-ish), above the next few (which are in Jita at the NPC trade hub station).

Except that the economic reports show deflation not inflation.

And ISK growth has been rather flat lately.
