A while ago I was occasionally getting popups asking if I wanted to try to fix folder permissions for Eve. I always clicked "No" and everything was fine. One day I accidentally clicked yes, and I've not been able to play on this computer since. The Eve launcher icon will appear in the system tray and disappear as soon as I put my mouse over it.

Tried:
Running as administrator
Starting Launcher from Eve folder
Repair tool
Uninstall/reinstall in same folder
Uninstall/reinstall in different folder
Uninstall/reinstall in different drive

Do you want the .dmp file? If so where can I send it?

The launcherLog looks pretty clean.

SOLUTION:
Right-clicking on your computer in the Start menu (For windows 10 you can search for 'This PC' the right click)
Select Properties
Then select 'Advanced System Settings' link
Let me know if you are unable to see this image

Finally select Environment Variables (this is can be found at the bottom of the 'Advanced' tab ).
Let me know if you are unable to see this image

Now that we have that window up we need to add a new variable under the 'System Variables' section

Let me know if you are unable to see this image

Click on the 'New' button (see image above) and a new window should pop up asking for the name of the new variable.

Enter 'QT_OPENGL' in the name field, and 'desktop' in the value field (without the quotes).

Click Okay

Once this variable is added the launcher should run as normal and hopefully the issue will be resolved. {Actually, it didn't work until after I restarted my computer.}

Debug.log: [0519/175040:ERROR:resource_bundle.cc(720)] Failed to load D:\EVE\Launcher\resources\qtwebengine_devtools_resources.pak Some features may not be available.

LauncherLog.txt just has every line with default debug and listing my system environment. The only thing weird is that it says I have 7 identical NVidia drivers installed.

So... I submitted my SUPPORT REQUEST #431015 on Saturday. I even uploaded all of my logs to the request. Just waiting on someone from support to contact me... Smile

It took over a week to get the response, and then another week for me to try it... but it worked.

Hello, I am GM Mechanic.

Thank you for contacting customer support. There is a possible solution for this but it is somewhat complex, there are detailed instructions below on what to do.

Click Okay

Once this variable is added the launcher should run as normal and hopefully the issue will be resolved. {Actually, it didn't work until after I restarted my computer.}

I appreciate the above steps are somewhat complicated so let me know if you encounter any problems or have any questions.

Best Regards,
GM Mechanic
