Cyno Field Generator only usuable on Cov Ops Frigs

Basically this practice of being able to fit them on everything makes 1v1 fights and small gang fights difficult. Because everyone and their mother has a carrier/dread fleet waiting for some action.

Positives: adds more 1v1 fights and small gang fights. which is turns adds more destruction

Negatives: now all your cyno alts are going to have to use more expensive ships and train more.

so, i propose to fix that reduce the time of immobilization of the cyno ship to 3 minutes. still enough time to blow it up if you were sitting there already or if you act fast. for the cyno guy if your smart and use intel you can make sure your ship doesn't die.

Only covops frigates, or are you including anything that can fit a covops cloak? (IE recons, blockade runners and T3s)

my original intention was for only cov ops frigates (i.e. Cheetah) but, after thinking about it. i think all types of frigates that can fit a covert ops cloak would be fine. (don't want to raise the prices too much)

Alright, now explain why. Why can, say, a force recon with these bonuses:

now not fill it's intended role? Why make it harder to move capitals and stuff around? Is nerfing logistics really going to help anything? This wouldn't add more 1v1 fights, as people would just bring their friends with them, or wait one jump out and use a bait ship, or something like that.

Is making people spend a month per cyno alt rather than a week really going to help anything? Or forcing people to keep cloaked cyno alts in systems where fights are likely (Rather than fitting a cyno to something like a drake) going to be much more than an annoyance?

I'm sure your intentions are good, but honestly? what's the point.

I have to say no, it's way too restrictive.

My idea was to give a time penalty to the cyno of 1 minute. Only recon ships get a bonus to reduce this time.
This could be 20% per level to end at zero delay, or 10 seconds per level to end at 10 seconds delay.

So any ship can still fit a cyno, but it becomes far more situational and tactical.
Covert cynos could remain the same.

so you say everytime I have to cyno my carrier or JF in from zero to a camped lowsec (the only available) I should burn a covert??

Not supported.

Currently I'm using noob ships for that.

Actually I wouldn't care if you did that so long as Force Recons get good new role bonuses like Probe Scan Strength and Interdiction Nulifier that some T3s have.

What would that even accomplish? go 1v1, bring cheetah, when 1v1 starts decloak cheetah (CHEETAHS ARE COV OPS. COV OPS CAN CLOAK) cyno up and jump your fleet... Maybe they should introduce some sort of Cyno jamming module that you can anchor on a pos or something.

This.

Recons have all these pretty bonuses to cyno use, but they are prohibitively expensive because any t1 frig can be used as a disposable cyno.

A ship is broken if it's intended use is better served by a T1 frigate.

Better (by better I mean less horrible) idea, allow everything to light a cyno, but non-covops ships have an activation delay of one minute. This means the cyno is visible on the overview system-wide, ship is stuck, but nothing can jump to the cyno for a minute. Covopses and recons would have no such delay.

So you can still use kestrels for logistics and movement, but if you want to hotdrop you have to pay.

I want being able to drop on top of your ship this should be possible!
