NPC Raitarus as a solution for faction battleship proliferation

While this should be on /r/eve for the testing purposes i will put this here.

Currently eve online is filled with faction battleships, they come from escalation, faction drops and in most of the cases not from pirate lp stores ... blah blah - we all know about this and what issues this brings.

The idea is to move the all drops from escalations to NPC M engineering complex drops.
They will be working in the same way like current BR Sotyio works, simply there will be actual limit how bit the response fleet can get and how much reinforcements it will get.

Sites will be spawning all around the eve - including lowsec and higsec systems.
(but respecting the maximum size and bpc you can get)

Thanks to this we will have more limited , rewarding and fun way of getting those BPC's.

In the same way like Sotyio :
- you follow the miners
- locate the Raitaru
- reinforce it
- kill it and loot the various bpc from the wreck

To make it more interesting location (system) of the faction raitaru can be also obtained (chance based ) by killing a "faction spawn".

... all you're doing is moving them from one frameable location you another.

What exactly is the problem you're trying to fix anyway. They are no more common than any other faction ship

Difference is that you need to find the EC first, there will be limited number of those existing, and they will have a 24h reinforce timer.

Lets assume that by race you have :
5 raitaru in higsec
10 in lowsec
15 in nullsec
You first need to find it, reinforce it and 24h later kill it.

This will reduce the supply by a significant number.

Again what exactly is the problem?

i think he is saying there are too many pirate bpcs
because pirate ships are superior to faction ships
yet pirate ships are cheaper

But.... they aren't superior

Some just better fit the meta like bhaals and rattles. SNI Fleet phoon tfi are great ships at what they do.

So only huge alliances with large fleets can have a remote chance at getting bpcs from a single location in the game?

How is that fair to the little guys who put in hard work.

OP, what do you think people will use these things for if the entire cluster wide production of new blueprints falls to 30 a week?

Yes Large Fleets can kill it, but who knows whom will loot them first!

The solution to pirate ship proliferation is just to nerf the escalation rate. Then they won't be farmed as much via escalations. That will breathe some vitality back into pirate LP stores and exploration.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

I disagree, Cheap ships are good, cause everyone fly them and get explode Big smile

This is a pretty poor solution, all things considered, it takes things from feast, straight past the famine mark, and all the way to an extinction level event.

Seriously I think you're massively under estimating what normal consumption of Faction Battleships looks like even without them main lining as a Null Sec fleet doctrine.

Overall this is hideously complex and unnecessary. If CCP wants to tweak the availability of these BPCs there are far better and more straightforward ways of doing so.

Cheap ships are good, And yet the op wants to make one type of ship extremely hard to get thus arbitrarily drive the price up.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Agree with the responses. Cheap is good.

Cheap allows the risk averse to lose a ship and not have an aneurysm. Although witnessing said aneurysm in local is often worth more than the ship we just killed.

Cheap allows us to fly fun ships without shitting up our killboards. You may or may not care about your KBs, but both my alliance and I care about our KBs.

Sure we could stick with T1, but T1 is oh so boring.
