Raw moon materials reaction in high sec?

Could it be something that could be done without upsetting the markets such as;

1. Reactions confined to an EC this way the owner gets ISK for use of the facility.

2. Due to some "inefficiencies" more waste of materials occurs.

This does 2 things, keeps it profitable to be done as it is in lower secs, and gives high sec Indies the ability to do reactions of materials in high sec.

Also it increases the profits of mooners ( ยท ) because folks like me will buy the moon materials to do our own Indy stuff.

Am I missing something or does it sound like a workable solution.

A complete removal of any shred of risk from the process you mean? Roll

Yes, and...no, a high sec player is a high sec player (me ->Bear), however because I am not willing to go to null hence the reason to make it not profitable enough to do in high sec (pay the owner/waste of product), this make it something that people interested in Indy and the process will do for their own reasons (building T-2 ships from scratch), and leaves any real profits in the hands of the folks who doo do the risks, LOW/NULL.

If it'd be deliberately designed to be impossible to make a profit, then why do you think anyone would bother?

I know this will come as a bit of a conundrum but if more people get to try these roles then maybe it would get folks to want more and make the move to to the lower realms to do more, to chase the profits if you will.

Believe it or not im getting to the point that I may have no choice but to move to null, I trained cap ship building and many tech 2&3 skills, I'm hitting a wall, a wall of no access to the stuff I need to continue to grow my character (or atleast usefulness), otherwise those skills are useless.

What's to try? What difference does it make if you start with Fernite Carbide over starting with four different moon products and putting them through two industry jobs, especially when you want the first option to be cheaper since it'll be coming out of null/low?

Do you think a random highsec industry guy 'chasing the profits' is going to last very long against whoever the lowsec superstars are this week?

Don't you think a cap builder and tech builder is useful in a corp, if not then why did others do so, going to null is a process for some, and some will go alone but most will go into null corps for protection.

Yes, I do both of those myself.

I don't see the need for picking up the raw moon materials and running what, sixteen different reactions to come out the end with a sabre when I can just buy the advanced reaction products and skip a huge pile of hassle. Some people do, and more power to them, but they are not the sort of people who are going to let not being able to do things n highsec stop them disappearing down a pile of spreadsheets and trying to work out how to get enough neodynium to build their latest crop of cerbs when [big group] took their crop's last moon.

Allowing this kind of thing in highsec with enough penalties piled on top of it to make turning a profit impossible would not really do a lot.

Without those penalties, groups from the dangerous parts of space would toss up XL refineries or whatever they're calling them and suddenly have no risk in their enterprises at all.

Understand, it is a long process which is something that not everyone enjoys, guess I'm just weird.

look it is important to put these outside of HS its one of the things that pushes people to set one up in LS and learn its not a scary as they think

That's one way to look at it, I'm going down to TAMA and beyond...got the escalation and just got a stealth bomber out of the oven, of course TAMA being an armpit of pirate activity I will send an alt in to see if there is a SB BS going on, or bubblers, gate camps, etc, if not I will slip through.

See, told you I suck at PvP...however, I took my alt down there and ratted, no problem, yes -10's were around but most activity was taking place at the station, hell there was offline POS's, goons, etc, but, I wasn't even being probed out or chased, much different then I remembered but maybe many players are out at bars.

I build T2 and T3 products in both highsec and nullsec. I start with reaction materials purchased in Jita. Simply building the components yourself does nice things to your margins.

I sympathize with the desire to build something substantial "from dirt". Moon mining was one of the reasons I moved to nullsec and I have a small role in my corporations operation, but actually harvesting all the raw material you need to build a T2 or T3 ship is simply not practical. I lowered my ambition to building a Mobile Tractor Unit "from dirt". I achieved that but it was a lot of work - I now buy the minerals!

This year I've been thinking about building a Nomad - starting with purchased minerals and advanced moon material. Only problem is it would cost me a billion more than the current selling price! Maybe after refineries ship and reaction material prices settle down.
