I came back after a long hiatus and noticed that gun tracking speed is measured differently. The guns stats used to be given in r/s but now I have some guns that just say 59.6 with no units which is clearly not r/s.

So what does the tracking stat measure now? and should I be looking at radial velocity or transversal velocity on my overview to determine if I will hit a target?

the UniWiki page still explains things in terms of Angular velocity.

Angular = Transversal

Another (probably wrong) way to look at it is that your turret's tracking speed coincides with how fast it can "rotate" and maintain an accurate lineup.

No the transversal speed on the overhead is the speed in meters per second an object is traveling perpendicular to the radius from your ship.

I know what angular velocity is, what I want to know is how the number given on the guns information compares to the radians per second given by the overhead. It used to be they were both in r/s which made it easy to tell what you would be able to hit. Now I have no idea what unit the guns "tracking speed" is given in so I can't compare it to the overhead's r/s.

Tracking is still shown under the info, this is just a value to compare like for like guns ( i.e my blasters vs rails vs auto vs arti vs beams vs pulses)
