Zork provided the best experience...fire up and then start exploring. No dev blog, zork online, zork-uni, etc. Raw experimental experience.

Some dude said “I don’t listen then someone says it’s X year and we have this….”

In game is 33000 or whatever…why does the eve online construct revolve around the 2003 computer construct.

If you want T3 Battleships....make T3 battleship worthy space
If you fly a 100mb drone ship…you should be able to fly 100mb/drone bandwidth.
If you want 1000X subs…provide unconquerable space that gets harder as you move through the pipe with commensurate rewards.
Four Races, Four damage types, Four race ship classes….loser space model if its year 33000 or whatever.

A focus on fostering destruction (id est, player v player churn will only lead to an attrition of unwilling “pay to win” clients.

Lastly “WHOO HOO! THERE’S WAR AFOOT” marketing in a PVP environment is BS when you can create a “WOO HOO! THERE’S NEW SPACE AND Pv(for everyone) afoot with fabulous rewards (example: +30% implants/modules/boosters, only useable in new space).

Balance is a matter of system mathematics…give us a challenge and we’ll pay/play to solving the problem. Give us lipstick on the pig and we’ll likely decide that our time is better spent in the sunshine, with real people, facing real life challenges and opportunities.

Zork was a series of text-based adventure games (by Infocom, if memory serves), back in the 80s. Tricky, difficult, cryptic, and consisting of puzzles that were very satisfying to solve.
