Why do T2 ships have bonuses from the T1 ship skills?

I mean why are they bonuses instead of base stats?
Currently all T2 ships need level 5 of the T1 ship skill to be used. Was this different in the past? I don't think it will change in the future.
Which means these bonuses will always be maxed, so why not simply apply them as base stats and role bonuses?
Seemingly it works like: checking ship bonuses -> checking player skill levels -> multiply bonus by skill level (which in this case is ALWAYS 5) -> apply bonus to the ship.
I think this just makes ship trait descriptions more complicated than it needs to be.
And if it actually does work as it seems like, then the server has to make an incredible amount of unnecessary calculations.

If you want an intelligent argument, please do, I'm up for it!

But if you want a trolling contest, I will win it by simply not participating.

Because it makes them far easier to compare to T1 ships when you can look at the base level, then see where both are when you have V.
And the server only calculates your ship when you get into it. After that it moves you as a set entity.

A lot of the things you get bonuses for aren't included in the basic attributes - if they didn't use the prerequisite skill to apply the bonus, they would need to make it a role bonus. I really don't think the server cares whether it is applying a 5% per level bonus or a 25% role bonus - a distinction without a difference.

As much as it also irks me too, it lets you more easily compare to T1 ships.

Also, in the WayLongAgo, you could actually lose SP being podded and you might end up with a situation where you had level 4 of the T1 skill. Since Pre-requisites aren't factored into whether you can fly a ship, only the main skill, to let people fly the ships they could fly when they changed skill requisites of BC/Destroyers/Mining Barges etc.

there are still ships in eve that do not need the T1 skill to V in order to fly the T2.

just thought i would add this to the list already given

That's a really good point.

I've already been bothered by T2 ships having per-level T1 bonuses, but you've given me a good reason to be thankful for the current system.
