Hello fellow capsuleers, I have been playing EVE for years but have never spent much time with PVP. I would like to start trying it out with some cheep T1 frigates. I read in a few guides to go to low sec and sit in plexes and get fights that way.

I am not interested in joining FW.
I am not interested in leaving my carebear corp.
I have run exploration in w-space where I have been on the receiving end of some ganks ShockedLol

How bad will the Sec Status hit be if I do this and I am the one initiating the fight on a non-flagged opponent?

It's not a big deal. When your sec gets low you can buy tags to fix it. Or intersperse your pvp with some ratting.

Many people don't even bother to fix it and just use alts to buy their stuff in high sec.

Do be careful about podding people illegally. That will give them kill rights which can be troublesome when you are care-bearing.

I've also wondered about that too, i havent done much pvp (all my encounters exept one were on the recieving end) but im wondering, if i kill a WANTED player, but not pod them, will i get the bounty from just killing their ship or do i have to pod em to get the bounty? will i lose sec status and get wanted myself for killing his ship, podding?

bounties pay out 20% of value of destroyed assets (up to the value of the bounty) so you get bounties on ship kills. pod kills will pay out as long as they have implants.

normal aggression rules apply to characters with bounties so you will lose sec status if they aren't flagged and you shoot first.

What does flagged mean?

Flagged is referring to the engagement status of the character in question. If the character is flagged then you can shoot them in high or low sec without incurring a standing hit.

another option for PVP could be Spectre Fleet. they run public fleets.

Expect to get worried questions when you fleet up with carebearing corp mates. Happened to me when I got back from my first low sec roam in a pretty dark yellow Lol.

Remove standings and insurance.

Just remember, if they shoot at you (or retaliate after you shoot them), you can pod them.

And I recommend that you do indeed pod them.

Yeah, once I lost ny ship far away from home. I asked my opponent to pod me,.but he just hung there doing nothing. That's too bad.
Or maybe he's just a Russian.

In highsec expect to lose about 0.2 sec status for illegal aggression against a player ship, and about 2.0 for illegal aggression against a player pod.

In lowsec the numbers are a little lower, maybe 2/3rds of those.

It's not exact but that's the ballpark I always aim for when going ganking (I gank on a character that remains highsec legal all the time).
