The popular HoloShow "Republic Fleet Firetails" has been generating headlines in the Republic this week, as one of its primary character's story takes a dramatic turn!

The show follows the exploits of a squadron of the Republic's best hotshot pilots as they battle their way through intense space combat with the Amarr.

The twist is they're all red-haired women flying Firetails!

The week's drama has been centered around the sudden change in direction taken by the writers in regards to the squadron's second in command "Laila Martine". The climax of the final episode of the season (without too many spoilers) revealed Laila's connections to the notorious Angel Cartel. Scandalous!

Reactions have been mixed among fans of the show. Many are worried this entirely unexpected turn of events will take focus away from the show's main selling points. One fan was noted for posting on one of the show's many dedicated message boards;


A young mother we interviewed in the malls of Rens had this to say in response;


We managed to get in contact with the writer behind the upcoming season, and ask him his opinions on the upset. Unfortunately, he declined to answer, stating only that the studio had recently changed hands and he was, "simply following the guidelines he was given".

Very suspicious if you ask us! We here at the IGN will continue to follow this story as it develops.

I've never seen this show but as both a redhead and sometimes Firetail pilot I may now have to check it out.

It's fairly well known in the Republic.

I swear Heroes of the Rebellion is better. If not for anything else, then for the director's choice of making every tribesman go shirtless in complete disregard to practicality or weather. They say it's because if you did not see the tattoos it would be ever so much harder to follow the plot. It's true that the cast is rather big, since they follow clans more than individuals, but the hell I care what the justification is.

Historical accuracy could... use some work, but the knife fight scenes are good.

I recall that we thought an acquaintance, Kalaralatiri, was in it, but on closer inspection, the tattoos didn't match.
