I can tell you right now they're not going to, but if you provide useful feedback on what you feel is missing or tweaks they could make, they might tweak the new one.

As for why they won't, that's more code to maintain and support, another thing that has to be updated as other things in the game change, ect. On top of that it's not that unpopular, most of the people who don't like it are just reflexively reacting to a change in the UI. This happens every time there's a major UI change in software and is pretty much expected by developers at this point.

One line of angry text isn't gonna do much though.

well if maintaining code is important the should scrap all the useless **** they added that doesn't improve functionality. I don't need flashy lights and sounds and an additional pop up. I only need to know whats in space and be able to quickly narrow it down. This new system is new simply to be new and that is just dumb. If you are going to replace something make it better. High high-sec care bear may like the delay it causes I don't know anyone who PVPs that likes it.

Honestly, its terrible if all you are looking for ice belts. Waste of screen space. Doubt CCP would listen to this though.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

You guys know that you can undock the probe scanner and d-scan windows from the system map right?
And if you do then they should be at the same place and have the same size as you used to have them (at least when I undocked them, they jumped back to where they were).

If you want an intelligent argument, please do, I'm up for it!

But if you want a trolling contest, I will win it by simply not participating.

I completely agree with MiklosAtreides. I hate the new d-scan. I do not understand why CCP continues to feel the need to shove unnecessary "improved" systems down our throats. As the scout for a small gang PVP group, this change greatly adversely affects me. If it takes me an extra 10 seconds or more to scan down a target, that is a target that is probably going to get away. Let the null bears rejoice.

The 'v' scan button does not work if you are changing the AU distance on the scanner with a mouse

I feel the distance between the 'SCAN' button and the arrows changing distance is greater. Adding unnecessary extra seconds

There is no longer a button to quickly disable overview settings to check filtered objects

I feel there is now a longer (enforced) delay between scans. If you are very quick at dscanning this is terrible.

I do believe, however, that Cade is correct in that CCP will completely ignore any complaints. This change only penalizes a small minority.

while that is true, it does not function in the same manner, and the quick scan methods no longer work.

I took a break from the game after they started breaking d-scan and probe scanner and was getting nervous working with old-old version. Then I think: hey maybe I can still do well with that old thingy. So I come back to the game and it's entirely gone. Now this should seem a small feat for anyone who is not a wormholer 24/7. But if you are, then it can only be one of these:
- You like the changes to d-scan and probe scan -> Good, congratulations, your game experience is greatly improved.
- You don't feel okay with the new changes despite trying to get used to them -> Good, your whole game experience has become sh****er for no particular reason.

Now, you know there are people living by d-scan and probe scan 90% of their play time, give us an option to customize further the UI of those things. Thanks.

It's really not. You feel like that stuff is useless because you learned to use the interface without any of that feedback, so you don't expect it and it's jarring to you. To a new player or someone not experienced with the UI the increased feedback is a good thing, not a bad one. This is UI design 101.

As for delay I have no idea what you're talking about there. The new UI presents results at the same speed as the old one and the refined controls for the probes and scan results have actually made the new one a little faster for me compared to the old one.

Also maintaining another small part of a feature is not the same as maintaining two entirely separate branches of code. One is very easy to the point of being trivial, the other is inherently a mess. The two are in no way equivalent.

Like I said before, if you want CCP to make tweaks then provide specific and detailed feedback, not general whining and ranting or demands for the old system back.

You mean go back to when you had to make bookmarks between celestials (or use bm's from missions etc) to get even coverage with probes, because you could only drop probes where your ship was and not move them after launching?

Bring it all back! Lol
