I tried a Blood Port in Nidhoggur just to test it out, and soon as my drones are launched, the NPCs shoot the wimpy fighters at 3m each. It wouldn't even be economical if I just let them die.

Fighters in general are way too weak. Anyone want to buy a nidhoggur?

Well that just means you don't know how to use the fighters under the new system.
And if you kill stuff fast enough your drones won't take aggro; if you keep them orbiting they mitigate damage taken.
I'll give you 350 for it! :D

This.

If the op wants to sell his Carrier that's his loss, I'm watching my corp mates do ridiculous things with Carriers (Suoer Carriers are beyond ridiculas btw) and they figured out how to keep their fighters alive and make tons of isk. I still rat with sub-capitals (Machariel + Fleet Typhoon right now) because I don't like all that clicking, but I have done some carrier ratting and if anything it's overpowered.

That...I don't even know what to call that lol. Lower level anomalies have smaller NPCs. Smaller NPCs are apply damage better and shred fighters which is why Carrier pilots stick to Sanctums, havens and forsaken hubs.

You put your carrier in the absolute worst anomalie a drone/fighter ship could be in , lost fights, then declared that there is something wrong with carriers lol. No, there is something wrong with the carrier pilot...

Have you actually ratted recently? Cause I ratted a month or two ago in a carrier and the rats took 2-3 mins to aggress. I do the Port last night and literally as soon as my fighters are launched they attack the fighters.

Dont think there's much that can be done there if cruisers/BCs immediately aggress fighters.

Try a forlorn den/rally point then.

THEN try a sanctum.

Just to be clear : navy wasps are eaten alive in a forlorn rally point by the battleships. yes, the BS track the wasps of a VNI with gall cr V.
They survive quite easily anything above hub.

I have an NSA. I meant the RATS were taking 2-3 minutes to switch from me to the fighters. That's acceptable cause I killed all the rats, recall on next wave, let them target me and then launch.

Last night I had all the rats red boxing me, and as soon as I launched fighters they would switch targets. I tried several times to recall and relaunch, and same result.

Maybe I hit a bug, otherwise drones seem completely useless for ratting anymore.

Recently, you mean like last week (in a carrier, like I said, I don't carrier rat much).

You are missing the fact that you put your carrier into a "drone shredder" anomaly (aka and anom with lots of small NPCs) , watched you fighters get shredded, then made a thread about how bad carrier ratting is.

What I and others are saying is that you are simply doing it wrong, you should be in a more carrier friendly anom (sanctum, haven, forsaken hub etc). Do it right 1st and see if you like it, and if you don't then we can talk about what's wrong with it.

Edit: Watch this video, says it better than i can.

I dont have Carrier but:
Im ratting in RS. And i see that something had change on comabt sites couse now i cant just do it without watching drones healt.

Friend that im ratting with sometimes, have Thany.
And we ONLY do Heavens and Sanctums if he take Carrier. Sometimes he can even finish site before I destroy my first targets.

So - compare to what i see on Dens, Ports and Hubs when im doing it solo, and when im ratting with Carrier - The best, and only wise choise for Carrier ratting are Heavens and Sanctums couse they have much bigger and slower targets then smaller sites and Fighters are fast enought to destroy it in one - two pew pew before they even target them and ship.

Guys,

I did a lot-lot lot of carrier rating these days. The only think CCP should fix is that there is and delay to when the fighters react. let say u tell them to orbit a npc. you kill it fast and then the fighter stops for 2-3 sec and gets killed. Even if you klick like crazy its like I don't know 1-3 sec delay and the do not orbit. This is not good from CCP, because even if you're the best pilot and klick like hell your fighters will not react. CCP ???* Why.

when your rat you are shooting gets in structure, hold W and click on the pirate gate in the rock haven (or whatever from the site you are doing, it could even be a wreck), your fighters won't ever stop moving. If you wait until the rat dies, then tell the fighters to attack the next one, you will have a delay of at least one second, which especially if that was the last rat of the spawn could mean one of your fighters gets alphaed, especially if you are in a nid rather than a thanny (which gets the durability bonus).

So just stay one step ahead and always have something selected to make your fighters orbit, you don't have to select it you can just hold W and click on anything, but you want your fighters close to the next rat spawn that is coming, since travel time will lower your DPS.

I'll buy it any day. Throw me an offer.

That said I wouldnt bother with the smaller anoms in a carrier. Aim for havens, sanctums and maybe forsaken hubs. Big NPC = happier fighters.

Also carrier ratting requires you to pay attention and recall fighters when they are damaged. And T2 fighters + drone durability skill + capital drone durability rig will convince you.

So now it seems they put carriers where they are supposed to be now and the tears start to flow.

Hey nullsec carrier pilots, the DAMN GAME DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU!

Sorry to burst your bubble but...

This really contributes nothing to the discussion at hand, and if you think a carrier nerf is going to do anything at all to stem the tide of isk growth from bounties then you don't understand what is going on in nullsec well enough. These ships are used in PVP too, so we are frustrated the entire capital PVP meta was changed without actually solving the problem they were trying to solve.

The only things that would really work are if we made a few fundamental changes: 1. sites need respawn timers, 2. Ihub bills need to be progressive on the amount of ratting done, AND they need to increase each bill on the amount of Ihubs owned. 3. Drones need to be made to not have assignment and no autoattack, make people lock and tell the drones to engage like every other weapons system. 4. Rats need to have their respawn placement happen in such a way that multiboxed smartbomb battleships can't run anoms.

If you do all of those things above, then maybe you will address the bounty problem, but no nerf to ships in the game will actually do it.

That being said, Carriers are still decent for making isk, just switch your ratting to a thanny with a fighter durability mod and you shouldn't have too much issue. Of course, me and all the others who have a good amount of isk are just going to use multiboxed ishtars, with those you can even scale it up without much diminishing return, unlike a carrier which at least required you to actively tell your fighters what to do. Or smartbomb ratting I suppose, that is pretty lucrative too.

Good Eve Online players adjust to what CCP throws at them. You seem to have a good grasp and can adjust but I have no sympathy for those who are flowing the tears about this.

I would like for them to improve missions in highsec but that will never happen. I also fly a Tengu and they are getting the nerfbat here soon, but I will adjust and keep playing...because I love this game.

If you cannot adapt to the situation, then GTFO...and send all your isk to me please. Thank you and have a wonderful day. \o/

Clearly don't know how to use your carrier effectively, I still have absolutely no trouble running Drone Hordes without losing even 1 fighter, you need to take out frigate rats first, Battleships won't track your fighters for ****

Please tell me more about how your cap meta pvp is messed up. Wormhole cap pvp got ****** because of changes that happened based around NS cap pvp.
