Sounds like a plan. I use the server I do (and its not the one in an earlier post) as I'm whitelisted for various services but as you see in my previous post it can bite your bum :)

I found this nice little tool after becoming frustrated with the built in tools in Windows. It's easy to understand, yet highly configurable and just works. Pretty much the exact opposite of the built in windows tools. :-)

I wasn't trying to take credit, we can all see earlier posts came up with solution. My post was meant to clarify the previous posts and stress the need to alter sync intervals.

Time sync via strat 2 @ 10 min intervals defo works. Check the sync is actually happening and don't go for anything under 10 mins or your ip risks getting banned.

Time dilation coming in may have complicated matters. Plus lag on regional gates happens sometimes even when client is running well.

Last night I was in 70 man fleet, jumped gates, titan bridged and whored on many kills without any issues.

Well I am still experiencing it, even after having set it to every 15 minutes.

Hopefully tomorrow's patch will make this whole discussion redundant anyway. :)

I didn't mean it to sound so hostile. I was a little frustrated by this issue at the time of writing so the tone was more aggressive than I intended. My apologies.

Same here. I'm still experiencing this issue though making my comp sync every 10 minutes has alleviated the symptoms. After several days of testing this with and without NTP syncing I can relatively confidently say it does have a positive effect even if it doesn't take the problem away (for me).

Yay to CCP beforehand if the fix works!

The clock of clients is now synchronized regularly with the server to reduce problems (like freezes at jumping) caused by unstable client clocks.

I pray to god it works, I do look forward to using my Panther for black op hot drops again!

Bump,

Unfortunately the patch did not fix this issue.

I have been traveling through gates since the patchy has been released and I'm still receiving the freeze when you jump (overview won't load) for 20 - 30 seconds.

This is getting real frustrating and I do hope CCP will at least consider compensating us, as the past week have not been enjoyable.

This is almost totally game breaking. Think I noticed the re-sync today 1st jump I got suck, 2nd jump was normal 3rd jump got stuck.
Never noticed my computer not keeping time like this before, is this because of eve can this be fixed locally?

Guys please report the same issue on this thread: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=61419&find=unread

As the patch did not fix it.

I can confirm that the patch did not (fully) fix this issue.

It looked really good for me for two days but today, when flying home after an incursion fleet, the game halted - just like it did before the patch - at least 4 times (over a 13-jump flight) after a gatejump.

As I mentioned in the Crucible 1.1 issues thread, the good news is (for me, anyway) that the client only halts for about 20-30 seconds now (instead of 4-8 minutes like before the patch) and it takes a lot longer time before it starts happening but that could still mean getting shot due to being left behind the fleet.

I played yesterday for a few hours without any issues at all.

I will keep an eye out however in my future roams.

I'm actually still using the sync tool found at http://www.timesynctool.com/ which may be the only point of difference.

That's what I'm using.

I got one server active, its: ntp1.tpg.com.au

But I'm still having the freeze upon jumping.

Can I see your servers please?

TPG? No wonder mate... should have gone with a real provider like Telstra P

I will post my server up when I get back from work. Have you got the sync set to every 15 minutes?

Yeah I must admit that over the last couple days, I have yet to experience any of this lag. I am however getting a lot of complete crashes upon jumping, but there's another thread for that.

I don't know if it's just CCP's fix or that I've also followed the stops advised by numerous people here to sync my clock more often.

edit: disregard all the above, just got it after jumping a gate, lasting 2 minutes now so far. What?

Telstra? what a joke?

No I'm not with TPG, I'm with Internode, now that's a real provider right there.

I only used the TPG server because I saw it on the stratum list.

Now I have found a permanent fix for this solution for those like me and that need one.

Simply pull out the BIOS battery of your motherboard and put it back in again, this resets all your sync settings back to default.

It has fixed my eve client and if the issue still occurs than simply replace the battery.

I hope that this helps you people that still have it.

I would also like to thank CCP for helping us greatly with this issue.

Thanks and bye.

Short: OCZ Synapse causes clock drift.

Long: After suffering the same problem and trying all the fixes to no avail I got down to some serious system testing with the help of the NTP tool recommended earlier in the thread.

Checking the drifts in the log led to me finding and verifying the following (of which this is a very small snapshot):

  • Synapse on – Dataplex Disabled.
  • 01/02/2012 08:06:04 Time Updated: +13ms Initial Startup
    01/02/2012 08:09:21 Time Updated: -2ms Manual Update

  • Synapse on – Dataplex Installed – First Boot
  • 01/02/2012 08:23:35 Time Updated: -259ms Initial Startup
    01/02/2012 08:26:59 Time Updated: +13ms Manual Update

  • OCZ Synapse on – Dataplex installed and caching.

  • 30/01/2012 21:21:41 Time Updated: +50.76s Regular Update
    30/01/2012 21:37:32 Time Updated: +49.96s Regular Update

As you can see the dataplex software used to manage the OCZ Synapse caching causes major system clock drift.

I called the company who supplied it and they instantly agreed to an RMA and confirmed a full refund. Apparently they've had to strip a pile of these from audio workstations because of the same problem.

So if you have an OCZ Synapse / Revo or are otherwise using dataplex have a look at that as a possible cause.

    I hope this helps someone.

Ok, here is what i find out.
Same bug as everyone (strange, but i alone had this problem in my corp).
As i syncronize my PC's time to internet time, jumping trhu the gates is not a pain in the ass anymore.
    I suggest you try that:

    Time Sync

As I have reedet in the forums- it is better not to syncronize your time more offen than every 4 h. I'll start with synchronizing every day at 10.15 am.
If that wont work- ill post again.

    Best luck.

    P.s. Sorry for my english.

After some time: nothing helps. We are dooomed!!!! And seriosly: I reinstalled windows and eve, installed that sync tool. Some gates lagging allways, some - not. Eve-restart helps only for short time.
