For a newbie looking for a better attribute map for any combat ship, best to use intelligence/perception/memory. Intelligence is very helpful for core and navigation skills. Perception is helpful mostly for spaceship command and weapon skills. Memory is helpful mostly for drones. All three are useful with most ships.
