..focusing on making smaller wh groups more compareable to the big)

as posted 2 weeks ago on reddit already, I was developing what might be an official w-space ranking site some day. So far this is in really early beta state, but it shows some 2016 and 2017 data to play around with:

http://fetox-developments.com/wormboard/

How it works:
All killmails per day are fetched from zKillboard and then the ones happend in w-space are filtered, completely ignoring k-space by intention (This keeps me from manually adding wh corporations, as I wanna have that running pretty automatically, ensuring I leave nobody out). Then the final hit guys corporationis determined and how many of his corporation were on the attackers site. Again, everyone else ignored, so groups that are operating mostly on their own are favoured! We all know that 200 guys can do alot of **** together, but I wanna give small and independently operating groups a bit of an advantage here (no worries Lazerhawks and Hard Knocks you're still the top ranks even that way, but it shows some interesting stuff in the top 100). I derive some additional information then, like net isk (isk killed - isk lost), isk per active player or net isk per average corpmembers on killmails. The website displays that data and can show monthly and yearly aggregates over that data sorted by each column presenting a rank based of the selected sort column. Currently I work on a row that takes all other rows into account and yielding an official score.

SO THIS IS NO OFFICIAL RANKING AS OF YET UNTIL I WORKED OUT THAT SCORE FORMULA

Known issues:
- The data table is not really repsonsive, after resizing the browser window you need to reload the page to make the headers aling with the columns again.
- Also the table itself doesn't adapt to the browser windows current height, it's set to be viewed on a full HD fullscreen browser window.
- Clicking on a header always sorts the data ascending first instead of descending, which is a limitation of the used PrimeNG / Angular 2 component.
- Currently only Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are fully supported, others might or might not work.
- 2016-08-24 is currently missing as that day had the first Keepstar kill and that one is not on CREST causing my update script to crash. Will fix that soon and add that single day.

ToDo:
- Search function.
- Score formula for main ranking.
- Graphs
- Getting more historic data, I wanna go back until the first kill in wh space on zKillboard :)

Thanks go out to CCP for making this wonderful game and the CREST killmail endpoint, Squizz for making the zKB API public, ExookiZ and Noobman for their inspiring work on the two WH comparison lists I knew of, before I started this one.
Repos will be released somewhere in the next 2 weeks under the AGPLv3 license.

Thanks! Interesting tool to compare the average number of pilots in gangs and the number of active pilots in a corporation.

Is this working? Mine just sits with status 'loading server status...' forever.
I suspect it may be something to do with my work network (our tech department is a little over zealous), will check if it works when I get home.

Yeah must be a work thing, is fine at home.
Looks good and have WDS as number 1 on kills so seems accurate too :)

Not really planned, as my main motivation was a focus on what smaller groups can archieve and make them somewhat compareable to the big fishes. And also that kind of view requires some extra, perhaps even manual stuff and a non-final-hit approach. I suggest the rolling-holes.com one that also got announced in this forum today, if you want that kind of view, they do a good job in that kind of perspective.

Mine I wanna keep running autonomous without any hand-tweaking. Graphs, search function and compare functions are planned as the next step however.

Thanks for the motivating feedback,
cya in space :)

Lol, Wingspan has evolved great indeed as a non wormhole corporation :P Also a solid score on the isk per average on killmail side of things. I assume you are in the top 3 on my final scoring formula which put all the rows into account :)

Neato. It does make it harder to stay off the map... and the avg # / kill is a pretty handy one glance stat.

When will there be an update? Or are you going to do this every month?

Oops,

I actually lost focus on this due some RL issues just after putting an hourly autoupdate script onto my server. Seems like that one refused to run :(

I am currently grinding down july data manually until I reach the 16th, then investigating why the hourly autoupdate cron job fails..

So long,
fetox
