Marauder quick positioning for Gone Berzerk?

I swear every time I use an MJD in Gone Berzerk, no matter my angle of approach, I always end up being too far away from some of the ships. So, I usually end of just fitting a MWD and burning some cap to get within 20-50km of the ships. still takes maybe a minute or so. (It feels slow)

Does anyone have any other approaches, _on a marauder_, to quickly get into position so you can drop bastion, MTU, and start full-clearing?

If I remember correctly, you warp in at around 70-90km. If that is correct, then I see no problem with MJDing to 10-30km (ie.going past them) and setting up shop. My blaster Kronus does this every time and it has no problem with full aggro and rapid full clear. Remember that it is only the last wave (Death Lords) that will try to extend distance from you; everything else comes right at you. A MWD is an ok alternative fit, especially if you fail to nail the Death Lords early and they head out in three separate directions at range and you have to chase them down. Like you mentioned, I think the use of a MWD to get into position adds maybe 30-45 seconds to the mission's running time; I wouldn't sweat the extra time you spend by using a MWD instead of a MJD.

To buck the popular trend, I began to Rage Start instead of Rage Quit.

...and every time I get another piece of Carbon, I know exactly what CCP is getting this Christmas.

can't you just land and blap everything? That's what I always used to do with my paladin. I think if you MWD to the center you are a bit closer to everything but not sure if that matters that much.

I just get in the mission, stay put, blap everying like Chainsaw says, do minimum to complete the mission, and leave.

Ever since the MJD was introduced, I only used it once. I have never had a need for it (in my Golem, Raven, CNR or Snake.)

It sounds like a MJD isn't working for you, so . . . put something else in that slot.

Always remember Tovil-Toba, and what was done there.

So now I remember what the problem is. You can do an initial jump to be pretty close to the initial ships. But subsequent spawns end up further and further away, until they're 80-90km out.

If I was doing the minimum, I'd just use javaelin torps and be done with it. But I like the loot from this one, so I haul everything in and do a full clear.

For now I think I'll just settle for the extra 45-60 seconds as someone pointed out using an MWD. You end up with maybe 60-65% cap left, which is plenty if your skills are solid.

Thanks everyone.

When using Kronos, I usually would MWD into the spot right above the big satellite dish looking structure and stay there until the end of the mission.

use cruise missiles and shoot them from where you land? no movement needed
