Hello. I know the title sounds like an exageration, it is not.

I decided to move my PI alt to nullsec.

So I had to redo my whole PI setups

After each planet I need to make a 30minute break because my hand hurts of all the clickfest
Setting up a P0->P3 installation requires

command center : 5clicks
4 basics : 8 clicks
3 advanced : 6 clicks
launchpad : 2 clicks
5 storage : 10 clicks
13 links : 39 clicks

total : 70 clicks for a planet.
and that's without settint the extractors. And that's without taking into account the ****** UI that selects the wrong building because the one selected is too big and covers the others and I have to redo one building.


then set up the processors : easy, each one requires select - click process - select good receipe - install - click product - create route - select destination - install . then select storage - storage - select product - create route - select processor - create route
Yeah, that's 7*14=98 more clicks for the planet.


168 clicks minimum if I do every thing perfectly to just set up the installation. for ONE OUT OF SIX PLANETS
THAT is tedious. and hurting.

Most of it comes from setting routes. Make routes automatic and a lot of the pain will be removed.

As someone who is finally starting to do PI because I need it to do some thing I want I feel your pain. A few things to consider.
Doing PI is tedious and awful.
It was designed that way (I think so at least).
If the devs know it can cause physical pain don't expect it to change anytime soon.
If there was a way to cause a electrical shock every time you moved an extractor it would have been the first thing coded.
In all fairness I'm just happy you can do the majority of PI while docked. It takes time (and many clicks) but if it was too easy too many people would be doing it and it would be nerfed so be thankful.

I'm going to sympathize with the OP.

The manufacture of many things in game depend on PI produced mats. We won't have them if PI isn't done. I have a couple indy toons I do PI with. The clickfest is irritating. A better UI would be appreciated.

The solution is easy: stop doing PI and find yourself a game where they have a gluten free safe zone area, where low effort instant gratification happens at every corner and you can vlog about your lunch.

You failed to pose a situation that needs solving.

Only 168 clicks and you're in pain? Over what time frame? Because I'd guess the average gamer clicks at least that many times in like 10 minutes or less, even during low intensity gaming. And in more intensive genres like RTS, people routinely exceed that number in like 2-3 minutes. Even in something as slow as EVE, I'm constantly clicking on things in the overview, adjusting/activating dscan, checking anomaly scanner, panning my camera around my ship, issuing movement commands through manual piloting, opening and closing menus, and so on.

I'd almost suggest seeing a doctor or something because that is a drop in the bucket when it come to pc gaming and the pain may point to a bigger issue than PI being tedious. That's like being exhausted and drenched in sweat after walking 100m.

not only 168 clicks, that's a computed minimum . Since the ui is so bad, and I had to check manually the other players constructions before setting my colonies, you can account for a lot more. per planet. Per character
it's not only the number of clicks, it's the bad UI that makes everything tedious , and especially the clickfest. you need a lot of precise clicks in an environment that makes your clicks unprecise. Imagine a FPS where targeting at an ennemy makes the environment around him bigger.

I can do a lot more clicks in FPS, with no pain. Though I agree with you, and I should visit a doctor.

It's okay to stop between steps and shake your arms out and maybe stretch a bit. Don't forget to drink water and stand up occasionally. ^_^
