Input broadcasting grey area?

Recently decided to roll a couple alts to rat with.

I know that there is a ban on input broadcasting, but if you look at the motivations for such a ban (unfair advantages over other players) I cannot help but wonder if there is potential for wiggle room in the zero-tolerance policy.

Imagine I had High Power Slot 1 bound to F1 on one char, Shift+F1 on another char, and Ctrl+F1 on a third char.

When I press any of the above hotkeys, it gets broadcast to all 3, however it only ever causes one action to happen. A particular use-case would be RHML battleships with auto-targeting missiles.

The purpose, simply put, would be to save myself from having to swap which window is active on the screen.

Is something like this ban-able?

Probably bannable yeah.

File a ticket and ask though, nobody on the forums will give you an official response.

Well, it's not exactly a novel idea - I cannot have been the first to think of it. It was my hope that someone who has already asked could shed light on the matter.

You are right though, on matters involving a ban (even a tempban as a first violation) an official position would be far better than hearsay.

Yup, that would fall under the "no slicing up the clients or messing with focus" side of the technical parts of the ban. You want to run with three monitors and alt-tab focus between them, that's fine, this would not be.

If you run with 3 monitors no alt tab is needed for focus simple mice click works.
