Tracking ship wakes...

Flying over the oceans of earth some times you cannot see the actual ships far below but you can see their wakes. I was thinking (OK, bad move already) it would be cool if ship wakes could be generated and then tracked by a special module that, of course, needed a bunch of rather exotic skills to be trained up to. The higher the training level the more the wake would tell us, things like how long ago the ship passed, then maybe the ship type and at the top end of the hard won skill set it could tell you who's flying the ship. And if you were tracking a wake that disappeared suddenly then you'd know that was where the target cloaked, and hey, he might still be there. Bottom line would be yet another dimension of PITA game play.

Just thinking.

Then, of course, there would have to be yet another module and it's skill sets that would enable a pilot to hide his wake, or, better yet, make it look like something else, maybe make my Domi wake look like a Tristan. Yeah, I'd like that. Better yet, just make one of these and let me evaluate it for a couple years. At no cost, of course.

The poor hamsters, not only would they have to work overtime(beyond what they already work in overtime) they would also start generating more heat than could be vented. At the very least I hear that roast hamster on chibata bread taste decent.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Never heard of ED (unfortunate choice of abbreviation, ooh) and have no idea what a stealth nerf cloaking thread is. Thing is, this is the only online game I play so when someone refs another game then it kind of doesn't register. I've never really recovered from the demise of Dune2 back in the nineties. Hey, it's just an idea, an idea I think would be cool in this game.

Intel like that is very powerful, there needs to be a really solid reason to add new sources of intel.
Now if it was done in conjunction with a massive reduction of other intel, then it could be a balancing mechanic.
It could be a useful tool for the devs to have in their toolbox.

But as New Eden currently stands, it is not ready for that.
