What has happened to Eve Online ?! Omega ?!?!

Hi,

I joined this game more than a year ago , I dont even remember how long...

I stopped playing for more than 6 months and now when I come back to enjoy this amazing game I just notice there is a new thing called OMEGA, which if you don't have you can not access a lot of features I had already upgraded and learned....

When has the greed for money become this insane? Was PLEX not enough for EVE? They had to introduce OMEGA to get even more money and wreck the game for the people without money... Lets be honest the features without OMEGA are just ridiculous and you cant do pretty much anything.

Before we had the chance to improve our characters and reach higher like the guys at the top of their game... Now if you want to get there... beyond the additional effort you have to pay

Please enlighten me what is going on or am I wrong and this has always been like this ?? Because I remember when I created my account 1-2 years ago I did not have this OMEGA BS and could improve any skill and do everything.

Please help me understand what is this...

Omega is the new name for a paying account. An Alpha account (What you have right now) is restricted in what it can fit and fly. If you trained skills past those limits you still have them but you can't use them until you subscribe to the game again.

Previously if you hadn't payed you wouldn't even be able to play right now without paying the subscription fee or activating a PLEX.

Being alpha you pay nothing and you still have access to universe of oportunities. Y U complaining?

The paying account is essentially the same thing that it was before.

This has to be a troll.

During your rage fueled abuse of the in-game interface, surely clicking every omega button you saw, did you once see the part where Omega is basically just the new word for Plex/subscription time?

If it weren't for these changes, you couldn't even login and post without being subscribed.

What do you think is for me the best way to buy game time ? Buying Plex and converting or buy game time off of eve store ? Or maybe g2a ? Any ideas ?

If you have a lot of extra isk and don't mind spending it... go plex. If you have other plans for your isk and dont' mind shelling out real money... go subscription.

I don't have much experience with 3rd party sites/game time codes, but the cheapest method should be directly thru CCP, via a CC or something. Longer subs is cheaper per month.

Buying plex with ISK for game time is great, but NEVER buy plex with real money from CCP, to then use for subscription. As you lose some real dollars in the process.

Do not use g2a. For the offical list of game time vendors please see this page https://secure.eveonline.com/etc.aspx

It is cheaper to subscribe via account management then to buy a plex and use it for game time, unless you purchase the plex via isk.

As no-one has pointed it out to the OP yet, you can play for free as Omega if you make a small sacrifice (not of the animal kind), just not accumulating any skillpoints.

Since skill extractors / injectors were introduced you could farm your own skillpoints and sell them for isk, buy plex and add gametime and even make a small profit (varies around 100m per month). Meaning that you just need to pay for say two months, then after a month or six weeks cancel sub.

Alphas get all the dates with the hot girls.
Omegas stay home and pop zits in the basement and collect MLP swag.

Bring back DEEEEP Space!
