Slightly mad idea to make assult figs great again

Rigs are a super important part of pvp ships. The wrong rig has more impact than a wrong mid or low slot mod. Why not make assult frigs reflect that fact?

How about making them the only t2 ship able to fit 3 rigs?

How about adding a 5% or 7.5% bonus to rig effects per assult frig skill level?

I feel this would both give the ships a bit of a much needed buff and give the t2 small rig market a boost

Best way to fix AF is to nerf T3D to be destroyers.

The extra rig effect combined with the added slot would be amazingly broken. An extra slot wouldn't hurt but I don't think it would help much either.

I don't quite agree with baltec1 at this point though, I think AFs are just kind of missing something. More base speed would certainly help the class as a whole and go well with the MWD bonus.

A sizable AB bonus would transform the AF into a ship able to both pin targets down and survive the process, ie: the heavy tackle it's meant to be.

CCP tried this, they were overpowered and the AB bonus was quickly abandoned.

I heard about this while researching my idea, but I was unable to find any footage or discussion about that particular test (please link if you have some). I decided to bring it up again because I think the idea should be revisited.

Would a speed and agility boost across the board be enough to make them servicable?
They're unreasonably slow for frigates, and it's just terrible.

AFs were discussed at Fanfest. Restoring them to their original role is likely futile - T3D owns that outright, are easier to skill into and the price difference is small. AFs remain popular for PVE and CCP Fozzie suggested they may optimize them for that role.

I'm pretty sure heavily armed space borne assault figs will certainly make capsuleers sh*t themselves...or at least think twice before visiting the fruit bowl again...

I must have been sick that day. When was that tried by CCP and deemed over powered? I've been a AF fan since 08, so help me out here.
