8 Toon PI setup - All for one or one for all?

Hi lads,

I have trained all my alts with all the Level 4 PI skills and am trying to figure out the best 'setup' for 8 alts doing PI.

In my WH I have 5 planets and can make a few of the P4 items (If I was going to do P4, I'm swaying towards only P3).

As all alts will be able to use the 5 planets in my system, I'm thinking I will have 1 planet as a production and the 4 other planets gathering material for the production planet. Then duplicate that by 8 characters.

OR Is it worth having 1 alt that has 5 production planets and have the other 7 alts feed these? The issue I can see is I don't think I can 'share' a Command Center, it has to be on separate character. I guess I could drop off the PI into a POS, then have my manufacture toon pick it up an shift it.

TLDR;

Best option for 8 ALT PI in WH?

Option 1
Have all 8 alts run separate P0 - P4 operations across 5 planets.

Option 2
Have 1 alt dedicated to manufacturing on planets and the other 7 pull P0 - P2 to fed manufacture planet. Exchanging PI materials at a POS.

Option 2 will result in fewer logins, since you can collect from the 7 farmers every once in a while, while your manufacturing character logs in daily to push more PI thru the manufacturing chain.

If you care about optimization it'll take a good amount of calculation to figure out exactly how many manufacturing planets to have that supports the collective farming, or you can just trial and error it.

With 5 characters doing PI I needed 2 p1-p2 planets and 1 p2-p4 planet, and p1-p2 is still the bottleneck. This is on purpose tho, since p1 sells faster than p4 locally.

evegadgets.com will let you plan accordingly. For me, since i'm doing fuel block PI, i've got 15 planets total. 12 of those are extraction and p1 planets. the remaining 3 are manufacturing p2/p3.

Personally, I'd go with Option #3: All characters doing single planet R0->P2 production. The isk efficiency is lower, but the amount of engagement is significantly lower as well. I restart my extractors every 2 days and run my P2 products out every 2 weeks. At higher levels of engagement, I tended to let my PI lapse. And the best PI is the PI you actually do. Focus less on isk efficiency and more on setting up a system that you're certain you will keep up with.

Option #2

6 toons - P0 to P2
1 toon - P2 to P3 1-3 planet (rest of planets, P0-P2 of materials you are short)
1 toon - P3 to P4 1-3 planets, depending on what P4 you are building (rest of planets, P0-P2 of materials you are short)

Get the toons trained to 5 as soon as possible to upgrade your planets.

I agree with the option II but for simplicity. I have a setup of around 90 planets, and two accounts use their 15 planets for p0>p1 only one product of the p0 per planet.

Then i use other account only for p2, and the rest are harvester/ extractors with feed the principal. By the way my main there is the one i use for make p3 and p4, by the way my taxes are 1.5% , i loss some money but the mind sanity is better using factory planets.

All character bazaar done. Finally 39 pilot and 3 can be killed later. This account will be used only for forum interaction, fly safe.
