In a nutshell, it's a practical lesson in false and deceptive advertising.

To be honest, every few months just siphoning one of the many skins or clothing items that get created and advertised would be sufficient...

What I wanna know is how can I upgrade my rifter USB hub to USB3.0... It is obsolete now!

Anyhow, I've been wondering what to do with all this useless mystery code clothing...

It is still useful for devices which freak-out when connected to USB 3.0

My keyboard and mouse stop working seconds after booting if connected to USB 3.0 ports. Took me a while to diagnose that one.

Also explained why my motherboard has two USB 2.0 jacks; my motherboard was a "big deal" when it came out with a lot of USB 3.0 ports (it has two internal 4-port USB 3.0 hubs). USB 3.0 compatibility is a common issue.

A 5 run BPC for the SoCT destroyer would be a good candidate for something code holders should receive. Need to flood the market with those things.

Every 15 days, you enter the mystery code and get 10 geckos...

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Hi all

I reach out to all those that purchased the collector edition of Eve online and ask CCP to do something honourable and honour those that purchased the collector’s edition with one final gift for the mystery code holders and say this is the final gift for the 15th year of EVE Online, rather than keep quiet and hope those players that purchased the collector’s edition go away, forget or give up about the mystery code.

I have heard and read so many things about why the players that supported CCP over the years by buying the collector’s edition get nothing these days and the latest being

Quote:
Recently read some FanFest comment about CCP mentioning that they are just hoping everyone stops talking about the mystery code and forget it. Something about it being mishandled and dropped.

So it is about time CCP come clean and say that they are stopping the mystery code offer and like I said above supply one last special gift for the 15th year of EVE, like a special edition indy ship or a set of special collector’s edition skins.
Example of special skins
A collector edition player can choose what race they would like the skins for and then they receive a set of standard ship skins for indy ships in that race.
Anyway CCP be honourable and honour the players that supported CCP and Eve Online by buying the collector’s edition.

And in that box there would be a mystery.
What is mystery? Its a mystery. 😎

How to unlock box? Mystery too. 😎

That requires /effort/

I'll be happy when CCP gets around to releasing the Valkyrie content that was Advertised to come with said Mystery Code...

Marketing note:

In the US there's a cable provider called "Comcast" that nobody likes. By "nobody likes", I mean it is one of, if no the most, hated brands in the US. So Comcast went to a big marketing research firm and asked them how much money it would cost to repair their reputation. After an extensive (and quite expensive) and through study was completed, the results were that no amount of PR work could fix it. Comcast could spend more on their marketing than they spend on actual operations, and it wouldn't move the needle. So instead of improving customer service or actual service, they marketed their internet service under the name Xfinity. ...and that's why we have Xfinity.

The reason I bring this up is because CCP is really good at promising the future. The track record: not so good. I mean.... I ain't even mad. But seriously. If you buy something from CCP with the promise of the future on your mind... I don't know what to tell you. They didn't even say anything specifically about what you would get.... just "something". I think EvE is a great game, and honestly CCP is waaaaay better at delivering lately, especially over the last year or two (relative to 4 or 5 years ago). I'm not holding my breath for tomorrow though. Expect nothing and maybe be pleasantly surprised is a better approach. Hope for the best, but don't expect CCP to fix it. It's hard for an established company to change. Just be thankful their development process got so much better.

tl;dr; don't buy promises from CCP. They'll only break your heart.

Just my 2 isk.

This limited edition includes a deluxe clamshell case, a commemorative plaque featuring exclusive art and redemption codes for EVE Online in-game content, a portfolio containing a three-layered acetate and lithograph representation of the Minmitar Probe frigate, and a cloth blueprint of the Caldari Condor frigate!

From the sales blurb for The Frigates of EVE Online: The Cross Sections . . . . . . .should we be worried?

Obviously someone at CCP signed off on this, its just the re-hashed mystery code idea - so the idea couldn't have been too outlandish the first time around.

uh, no?

Each of the limited edition books has come with a code to redeem some items. It's a one off redemption.

Minmitar?
Why not Minmatar?

I have seen the same mistake here.

Cant they learn what is one of the 4 major factions in their own game? As a Minmatar I demand official apology from CCP Falcon and the rest of lore team. They did not work hard enough to teach those people about EVE lore.

I have a few random items like the 'source' implants and an in game book or something like that from the last two. I'd guess similar stuff from this one.

sure it would be nice to get stuff from the mystery code, but hard to imagine getting anything all that useful. I suppose I could see them promoing a few skins that way. Heck maybe make a "mystery" skin and ship one each month for each ship, that would only last what almost 400 months?
