Allow any individual to help defend any citadel.

Perhaps this is already possible and I'm not aware of how it's done, but I would like to be able to help defend a citadel which is under attack without having to get my corporation to war dec the attackers.

At least this is what I was told I would need to do if I wanted to help defend a citadel.

My corp is unlikely to want to war dec the attackers of a citadel that I alone in the corporation use for market activities. However I would like to participate in its defense.

Surely you can devise a way for an individual player to help defend a citadel, outside of what their corp decides to do.

Leave your corp and join the corp under attack, or use an alt. Wardeccers aren't going to go permaflashy just because you want to shoot at people shooting at the market hub you like.

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!

Yup, Dark Lord has it right. The way to do that is to swap corps for the duration, either joining the corp that owns the Citadel or making a quick one-man one and entering as a merc on the defender's side.

The wardec system is the correct mechanic for this.

Or i suppose you can spam duel requests and hope they accept.

You could pilot a bumping Mach and sending the attackers flying out of range, one at a time.

Far better to use a Stabber or T2 variant.

If you assist a defender in combat with logi or something, don't you inherit the combat flags?

I've never actually tried it, not sure how that works.
