Incursion Abaddon or Navy 'Gheddon, T1 turrets?

So general consensus for making big ISK is to do Incusions, I've heard up to 100 million a day. I've only been playing a little over a month (and did the 14day trial last year), but I've researched a lot of tanking and damage compensation skills and was wondering if being a dedicated armor tank really requires T2 turrets to successfully do incursions? With propper active armor hardeners and Rigs I wouldn't think the DPS would really be that much of a factor, just wondering what the thought was around here? I currently house an Abaddon and Navy Armageddon, so I'm definitely looking for tips to help me get picked up in armor fleets for Incusions.

Are t2 turrets necessary to run them? No. However, if you ask the question - how long will it take me to get in fleet with t1 turrets? Then you start to see the benefits of t2. The reason here is that generally if you have t2 turrets, you also have your support skills higher, and when an FC is looking for DPS to compete a site, they want the player with the higher skills and better setup. Which means that if you go for a meta 4/faction abaddon, vs a t2 abaddon, the t2 abaddon is probably going to get taken first, and you are going to be waiting longer for a fleet. As for which is better - abaddon or navy geddon, I would probably choose the abaddon, though the geddon may get you in because of that navy in front of it. Its kind of a tossup I guess...

Alright, thanks for the quick and kind reply. I'd sure hate to have to wait the required time needed to unlock the T2 turrets (something in the 60+ day range, can't be certain since I'm not home right now). I With a specific active armor tank setup, I can get into the high 80s/low 90s resistance against any 2 damage types. With a passive tanking setup (adaptive nano membrane's and Dmg Control 2) I'm generally in the 70%+ resistance across the board.

I've never tried getting into a fleet yet, but I guess it wouldn't hurt trying once or twice Big smile I'm currently working on getting T2 drones so Im sure that'll help my DPS a little bit in a couple days.

Although, I've recently been considering selling my Navy 'Geddon for a Navy Apoc and using a Tachyon sniper setup. The cap on my Abaddon is horrendous, though Im sure its not bad in a fleet with Logistic Ships. I really can't decide what to focus on What?

As for sniping with Tachs you really want T2 guns, since you lose a lot DPS without them, because you can't use Aurora(T2 long range ammo).

Sniping BS in Incursions isn't really a good entry point if you new to the game, since it is fairly skill point intensive job(not just guns, but tank, cap, fitting and support skills should be pretty high to end up with a substitutable fitting, that got a 100k EHP+ tank and 500+ DPS at 150km) and gangs without very powerful snipers will take so long to clear sites that it isn't generally worth it over VGs(once you have 100+ in the VG systems and payouts get lower by contests or waiting for site re spawns).

Vanguard fleets are far more forgiveable, since the incoming dps is lower, your range with 15-22km optimal with multi frequency is sufficient most of the time and the gangs are a lot more casual player driven outside of stuff like legion blitz gangs.

For a newguy that wants to armortank and seems to be rolling with amarr tech ...

Get a navy apoc / geddon .. both have much more forgiving fittings then abaddon that wont be shining with low support and offensive skills.

And yes .. T2 guns are worth it especially for amarr.
