There is a counter to this:

Nobody, including you, trusts the toon you expose to space. That toon is only given what it needs to do whatever it's doing, and no more. The toon with all your stuff and permissions never undocks or does anything which would generate a corpse.

This would just be a "Gotcha!" mechanic for people who don't understand how it works.

On what planet does this sound like fun gameplay?

You're essentially saying that *everyone* has to have a "speaking alt" that can be trusted to actually be them... that sounds like the biggest load of @%#@#$% I've ever seen on these forums and that's saying a *lot*.

Where'd I call it fun? Read the bolded part.

I don't think it would be fun. I was just pointing out how the "This can't be worked around!" posts were strawmen.

It would be mildly amusing to run into your clone in space, but as for them actually messing with your/alliance's stuff, it would just become another annoying mechanic to work around.

About the only fun to be had is for someone to come on the forums talking about how they accidentally extracted all their skills to sell because they thought they were extracting yours because they didn't understand how the mechanic worked.

Generally when people talk about a workaround or counter gameplay they're talking about something that doesn't involve the absolutely 100% required use of an alt. Even things that are commonly done by alts don't absolutely require them.

IMO your argument doesn't make the arguments saying there would be no counter to this strawmen, it makes your argument at best the exception that proves the rule.

Also, again, impersonation is still against the ToS so this whole argument is pointless.

It's still a game after all so there should be some fun to get through the mechanic and not just in some meta-game way like laughing at the idiot who extracted his skills.
