Player Features and Ideas Discussion

I would be imo a nice touch if you would implement the following.

- Tethering I would keep as it is as it allows friendly fleets to stay safe and repair
- I would implement docking ports on the citadel (bigger more ports and so on). The ship would stay in space just fixed on the citadel
- This ports would be for players to attach their ship to the citadel and fix them in space so to speak like docking a NASA Module to the ISS for instance

Benefits
- They would be protected by the Citadel shield
- Players can leave the ship by entering the station


Trade-off
- They can get shoot at if the shield is down
- The ship is not part of asset safety
- Allow only one size bigger ships to use the docking clamps
* Astrahus : Carriers and faxes, and maybe 1 supper/titan port,
* Fortizar: Titan, Supper, more of small stuff ports for smaller ships
* Keepstar: Titan, Supper,carrier,fax,Freighter,... a lot of ports

...


That way you can remove the need for putting up POS to hide titan/suppers

A player that logs off is leaving the docking clamps and just logs off inside tether range (Would allow for some piracy)
If you log off with the ship still attached the mechanic above apples and simply can be shot without the player present if they are away for too long

Stuff like this has already been discussed to death in the original structure threads and CCP are already working on implementing some form of bumping protection for tethered ships on Citadels. There was even a question about the priority of such a feature in the Structures poll CCP ran a few weeks ago.

We have no idea what they're going to do but I know I've explicitly seen this suggested before, and commented on by CCP.
