Can't upgrade to Omega

I have an Alpha account and am trying to upgrade to Omega. When I select the 1 Month option (or any option, for that matter) I get a flashing screen that says "we are unable to authorize your payment at this time. Please ensure you have sufficient funds blah blah". But I haven't entered any credit card or other information yet so something is odd. I've cleared my cache and restarted my browser but no joy. I have put in a trouble ticket but I'm just hoping someone has a quick answer. Thanks in advance.

It is possible the system is is temporarily unavailable. Try again later (next workday).

It is also possible your browser is blocking something.

When all else fails, file an account petition.

What Tau said.

It might also be that the same system that processes gametime payments is used for the store and apparently this funny little book about Frigate cross sections and history is generating a lot of traffic... >.>

Thx for the replies. So I'll just sit tight and try again tomorrow. I've filed a ticket too so one way or the other I'll get it.

Hmmmmm, so still waiting on my ticket. I'm a little concerned that if it's taking this long to fix an issue I'm having with buying the game what is support like for other issues? Clearly this game requires a pretty big time/learning commitment and I don't want to go down this road and get "stranded". What is the general support level like?

HAve you read this section? Maybe there is a solution.

Thanks Nana, but I can't get to the point where it asks for payment method. As soon as I click on the 1 Month option it goes to a screen with a flashing red line on the top saying "We are unable to authorize your payment..." but I haven't entered payment information yet and the screen is flashing and won't allow me to enter anything.

Hey mate,

Without delving into specifics, try downloading a different browser from the one you are using, and try using that for your purchase. I've ran into several sites on my old browser of choice where the site just wouldn't function normally, it's not unusual.
If you are using Chrome, try Firefox and vice-versa.

So long as you filed the ticket correctly payment issues are generally dealt with pretty quickly, though the aforementioned book release and subsequent billing issues may have loaded up that ticket queue so they might be taking longer to resolve things than normal.

The other problem with billing issues is that often they have to wait on a response from a vendor or third party to be dealt with, so there can be some lag time there. Clearly this doesn't apply to your issue, but it could be causing delays with other tickets which would trickle down to you.

Oh yeah, you did file the ticket under Billing (or something similar) right? If you filed it as a Web UI issue that's going to be lower priority.

Support got back to me and it was the extension on my browser were blocking it. If I had of read the posts here more carefully I would have got it earlier. So I'm up and running with my alt. Thanks again everyone.

Must be generating insane amounts of traffic when a limited edition of 1.337 copies still isn't sold out 2 days later...

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

That's would be roughly a doubling of the number of people that re-up their subs every day, and based on the forums there have been at least a few issues processing payments, or with people selecting the wrong book.

Plus apparently a fair amount of traffic going to the store, probably to look at the preview art.

Regardless though it was just a theory, and OP clearly got a response pretty quickly here, so maybe there's not so much traffic as I thought :)

Any properly set up webserver has no problems serving hundreds of requests per second and the EVE store is outsourced to Shopify anyway.

And generally it will (there certainly haven't been any reports of mass issues) but more traffic does often mean more issues in practice, same for any change in a production system, and unfortunately no one I know of has found a way to simulate user stupidity in Test with 100% accuracy... Ugh

That's the major problem right there. Humans are dumb.
