War dec and account ban?

So i'm part of a small corporation (on my other account) and we were recently war deced by a highsec mercenary corp. Were pretty sure that our one trader was the target as all she does is sit in station and trade stuff in high sec all day and some times ship things around. The rest of us do missions and tend to not be around in HS.

Now less than 24hrs after the start of the war dec our corp member has apparently been banned. The only items she sells are those she gets in public contracts, from the market or our mission and rat loot. She doesn't plex her account (has kept it active even when were not actively playing it for a few months) and mostly just plays to help us out (Real life group of friends). Since she has not undocked from the station since the start of the war dec and the reset of us were away from HS we think that she was falsely reported out of spite.

So I guess my question is this: Is this part of the "meta game"? Is the investigation done at this point? Is there some way she could have known something she was buying was stolen?

We're generally just confused on why or how she was reported or if there was something we were missing.

Forums can't help you.

You can only file a petition.

CCP rarely will tell you details of why you were banned, but you can try asking for clarification.

I may be completely wrong but this sounds an awful lot like "I was just sitting there minding my own business when the cops arrested me for no reason." It's POSSIBLE, but I think it's far more likely that your corp mate was into something fishy and isn't coming clean about it.

This shouldn't be part of the meta game. It sounds like your friend was into something fishy. The devs do take a bit of a scorched earth policy with hackers/rmt'ers. It sounds like your friend was a fence for hacked assets. Maybe an unwitting fence. Maybe not. Discussing bans is against the forum rules. Could try reddit, I guess, but really it's CCP's game. They are the ones who can ban/unban, so they are probably the ones you want to be talking to. If it were me, I'd consider skipping petitions and email security directly, but then if it were me, I'd actually be innocent.

Thanks for the heads up about discussing bans i'll wipe my post. I hope there this turns out to be a mistake or as someone said an unwitting fence.
