If Outposts become faction citadels...

Will any stuff inside be moveable to asset safety?

For example, if some hypothetical loser had stuff trapped in southern wastelands from the days of, say, Ascendant Frontier, would they be able to move them to a lowsec station/citadel?

I'm just asking for a friend, but it would be pretty interesting to see an original '06 ratting Raven etc. Like some sort of time capsule.

I wonder if the dirt algorithm has been applied retroactively too - that'll take m...my friend a long time to wipe off for sure!

Man, all of that stuff locked away in stations people have lost access to. I'd be interested to see all of the time capsules that might start appearing.

It isn't a question of if - it will happen and yes, you will be able to move your stuff to asset safety same as regular Citadels.

This will drastically change SOV warfare, now there's not much risk in losing trillions in assets in a locked Outpost ._.

Would they redesign them tho?
I wouldn't mind having a curvy gold amarr citadel.
Upwells are ugly.

They said they would rescale them, but I kinda hope for a more elaborate makeover.

Erm, well that's the definition of asset safety. But when Fozzie wrote:

Quote:
During the downtime on the event day, the new faction Citadels will be automatically anchored at a location near the Outpost or Conquerable Station they are replacing. Whenever possible items that were inside the old Outpost or Conquerable will be moved directly into the new Citadel, with some items moved into asset safety as needed. Any of the items placed in the new Citadels can be manually placed into asset safety by their owners whenever they wish, just like all items in other Upwell structures.

What is "whenever possible"? Does that include ancient items of people that haven't owned the outpost for a decade? It mentions manual transfer by the owners, but what about ex-owners?

Basically, does my stuff automagically transfer to asset safety, or does the database say "this doesn't belong to the owning corp, I'm going to delete it"?

It had better do the same as all Citadels or else everyone coming back into the game from yesteryears is pretty much boned which would not be good for getting players to return if they leave. Take a break from Eve, lose all your stuff. Doesnt good PR make.Twisted

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

I read it as CCP having not planned out every possibility yet. There will be all sorts of of weird & wonderful item states like impounded items, locked BPOs, undelivered industry jobs, etc that need to be handled in different ways.

They also need to work out what should happen when this change modifies who has access to an item. For example, if a locked / impounded BPO goes to asset safety it can be grabbed by far more people than before.
