Hello,

I'm returning from a long break and had trained up an alt to fly the Isthar (mainly PVE).

With the recent changes to the ship, i wonder how viable it still is ?

Also, the main has all tech 1/2/3 weaps/ships/races etc to max (non cap ofc) , the alt is mainly trained for Amarr and Gallente. I wonder what would be a good ship for the alt to assist the main char to finish lvl 4's faster, (Com= main usually uses a vanilla Raven with tech 2 mods). Com can easily complete Lvl 4's with the Raven. But as said before, i'm wondering what ship the alt can use to speed up lvl '4 s ? (alt can fly almost all Amarr non caps and almost all Gallente up to BC size)

I also wonder if i use the alt in eg a shield booster ship, it will now be aggroed by npc's ?

I was also planning on using the alt to try some (solo or duo with main) PVP with the Ishtar, but with recent changes that seems not so good any more, from what i've read here a navy vexor would be a better choice i guess ?

Or is there an Amarr ship good for (solo or duo with main) PVP ?

Thanks alot,

Comnena

urgh................ wut?
get on pyfa and work on the fits!

ishtar get bonus even to sentries, and a little more tracking/velocity for drones + better tank
VNI is cheaper and does the same damage.

you need to consider where you are gonna use them:
in null/low sec an ishtar is a good target, way more expensive than a VNI
in HS you can use anything.

i heard of guys using ishtar/Vni from distance, maxed out damage obviously to clean sites faster helping that way the main.

for pvp....... there are infinite possibilities:
like a force reacon ship (amarr~pilgrim/gallente~arazu) for the alt while the main dps and the expensive ship are on the main, coming in after the alt get tackle on something.
eventually your alt can fly a covert/nullified t3c to tackle things and to scout your way ahead of your main character...

welcome back anyway!
get in some corp and talk with people to get update and play the game with people and have fun! (my suggestion) Blink

Indeed, so many things have changed that i've gotten a bit lost now :-) . I've been playing with setups, but still asked the question here since i guess i missed a lot just by looking at (simulated) stats.

Thanks for the WB :-)

Well i guess it depends on how long ago you where flying it, The most recent changes where a nerf to Sentry DPS (maybe range, ) but otherwise it did not really change much.

VNI has higher sentry DPS but lower application, tank, Cap and lock range.
