Long ago in a time kinda sort of not too far away.. I had trained up the leadership and command skills to be a booster pilot. I feel like at this point it would be a better investment to simply rip those skills out for cash. What is the general consensus on combat booster pilots?

me personally, i think they are all right with one exception..........

Highsec, combat boosts should make you go suspect if your a neutral.

So Orca's, Porpoise, and anybody else giving combat command boosts (basically anything but mining boosts) should go suspect simply because you are participating in assistance of a combat activity, whether in a defensive or offensive capacity.

OP, command skills are quite good but you need the right ship for them and it still depends in large part on what you're doing in the game. In general though, if you want to be a fleet support player, I wouldn't recommend pulling them out of your head.

This would basically kill any potential use of Combat Boosting in High Sec. I'm all for having it transfer flags from the boosted pilots (wars, ect) or work like Logi where you go suspect if you assist someone with an active PvP timer against a party you're not at war with. Having it just uniformly make you go Suspect would make them all but unusable though, especially for mining, Incursions, or any other form of PvE as well as High Sec wars and basically anything that isn't baiting people on the undock of a trade hub.

The alliance of my combat alt always have one or two boosters with us when fleeting (mid-size alliance, lowsec), and they are very good. The meta has changed from T3s and command ships, to command dessies(would recommend training into these, they are always wanted), carriers and some times T1 BCs. But they are very wanted in fleets, just talk to the FC what boosting ship he want you in.

ripping out boosting skills?
you wut?

you clearly don't understand the game! legit Cool
those are essential skills!!!
BOTH for SOLO(magus) or FLEET(command ships).

keep those skills in ffs

importance order:

- for solo, skirmish > armor/shield > info
- fleet, armor/shield > skirmish > info

Demand for boosting pilots has increased since this is now active gameplay. Personally, I miss the 10% boost you could get with the basic leadership skills for a small fleet with no booster but putting the command ships on-grid with an active role was a good change.

To sum up my stance: training command skills since 2012.

I've stripped them all and put into good use.

We use boosts in our small gangs. But usually it is done by one of pilots and not dedicated booster. And having no "mandatory OGB" you do not have urge to have your own in every gang.

Keep them in your head.

They are a long train and not one all that many people have.
Its a niche but one that is always in high demand.

They also unlock some pretty awesome and fun ships for solo play.

Think of them as a long term investment that will never lose its value.

The Magus is a great dessie for solo work, even more so because of the command boosts it gets. If you already have those skills trained, they would be the last thing I ripped out of my head.

If this happens, i will pretend to be new and request boosts while secretly be involved in a duel with my alt. I will then kill the booster like a G.
