RIP CQ --> Hello Corp Office?

So it's pretty clear, that when CCP decide to remove outposts, there will no longer be any Captains Quarters in null-sec.
The apparel items that many players have purchased will no longer be available for display, even for the vein like myself, unless i make my way to high-sec for a fashion show.

*cue haters*

My suggestion is to open a CQ style Corporation Office in Upwell structures, but with different models.

Each CO model would be based on Skill Level/Corp Size.

- 1-10 members = dinghy, dirty office cublicle
- 11-50 members = open-plan office with board room (director level entry only?)
- 50-100 members = convention room with tables and small stage
- 100+ members = assembly hall with balcony seating (director level entry)


I understand that the CQ serves absolutely no purpose to the game its-self (yet?), however what it does provide is an alternative 'backdrop' while playing spreadsheets and windows. To me at least, it provides a deeper environment into the game, focusing on the capsuleers which empower the game. (i mean, who really uses the TV screens in the CQ?)

I see it working just like the CQ does now, when you enter, it spawns the character into a location within the model. You can choose to remain in that location, or move around and explore the office. The real key to this, is that any corp member can enter the office, and see their fellow corp members in the same office.

I am not talking about any kind of interaction, or WIS gameplay, I simply see this as an alternative to always looking at a ship bobbing up and down on the spot.

*cue more haters*



If building a few corp office models seems like a heavy-handed task, maybe we could throw in a ship garage, so we can browse and view each ship in the hanger without having to board and load each ship?



Bottom line: Upwell Consortium needs to provide more environment to their structures. (or at least brackets when viewing outside structure. Come on guys!)

You already have an alternative to ship spinning - the outside view which lets you spin the structure instead! I'm hoping the devs spend the next couple of years focused on features that actually impact gameplay.

Yes, but then you've been complaining since MUDs went graphical.

I for one wouldn't mind a place where we could show off just how dead sexy we are. Big smile

I would like that idea ... if it also includes some secluded places so that I don't have to be near people all the time in that office.

These things do influence gameplay since socializing is a big part of the game and what would demonstrate that more than an office room full of people of your corp?

There already is- when the enemy rips open your pod with lasers n bullets ;)
