Those of a Fluffy Bunnies and Bambie only lifestyle should be wary of clicking this link

My neighbors liked this song soooo much they invited the police over to listen to it !!!!!!

"caught on fire a little bit, just a little."

"Delinquents, check, weirdos, check, hippies, check, pillheads, check, freaks, check, potheads, check .....gangs all here!"

I love Science, it gives me a Hadron.

This mortail coil - Song to the siren

Elisabeth Fraser -absolutely one of the very best female vocalists of the 20th Century. Shirley Manson adores her as does Madonna, Prince and may others. Some journo hack once labelled her 'The Voice of God' much to her embarassment and ire, being the shy private type that she is.

Says 'This Mortal Coil' here, but it's Guthrie and Fraser a.k.a. The Cocteau Twins. This Mortal Coil was a somewhat impressive collective effort under the aegis of Ivo Watts-Russell's 4AD label.

Thanks for posting this one.

Oh yeah, This Mortal Coil. The song 'Kangaroo' used to be on my turntable alot. Can't really go wrong with anything on the 4AD label.

I put Sinead O'Connor into my list of top 20th Century Vocalists.

Just for completion on Liz Fraser, and the song Madonna Went Dippy Over, rather nicely :)

Couple tunes I had playing today...

Rome - To Die Among Strangers

Rome - The Secret Sons Of Europe

I can only handle so much of Rome...
Then I need to switch to something like this.

Mutemath's new album, Odd Soul....such sonic brilliance.

Edit: I guess I should be considerate enough to link to at least one of the tracks. Here's the video for Blood Pressure, the first single off the album.

Listen to this...

Planet funk - Chase the sun

Now, listen to this...

Ennio Morricone - Alla luce del giorno

Funny, huh?

And now, for something completely different.

This song's lyrics are a mere 500 years old.

Likin' the Planet Funk. Spent some time listening to their stuff Smile

Was playing around with some Bossa Nova the other day. Amazing '50s and ''60s music. Need to take a break from some of the noise I listen to now and then. This is one of my faves - The Girl From Ipanema:

Astrud Gilberto... beautiful woman, sad to think that Stan Getz was pervin' on her

Another version with more jazz infused

Diana Krull, nicely done, not over the top

and then there is this train wreck by Cher.

Worst of all has to be the Ella Fitzgerald version. I didn't bother linking it. Madonna and Amy Winehouse took turns bashing this song too.

Here is an original from 1957. Henri Salvador - Dans mon ile, get a load of the costume bikini.

Just remembered that mind.in.a.box released their new album Revelations the other day. Haven't had time to listen to it more than once so far but it's pretty darn good already (it usually takes me a while to really get the feel for their stuff). Worth every penny. Big smile

Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.

Oh ya... some really good stuff on Revelations! Started looking around and liking this too, Mind In A Box - Change And this is from 2004... I missed out I guess.
Thnx defiler

That was so good. Found this from Eumir and am totally amazed at the talent that he gathered for this show Deodato - Superstrut live and so good
Thnx for that Inda

Amazing! The music that can be found just by looking around and following suggestions. Yet so many people are just too lazy to take a listen to other music and they choose to be content with the aural drivel they hear day to day.
