Let us warp to Citadels properly for crying out loud

It's been a year since Citadels were introduced, so why is it still the case that I MUST have citadels on my overview or on my brackets in order to warp to them?

You can't use the right click structures menu to warp to them? Works for me just like stations even when I'm on a different overview.
How else do you expect to warp to them other than those three methods?

Right click in space works fine.

What may surprise folks is that if you look in the corp assets window and right click on a structure it only gives show info and one other useless option.

We still have a little way to go to give them all the finishing touches.

You can also use the blue in-space brackets to warp to them.

Optimistic as always.

And if our onboard computers could have their "aim" improved, so that warp to ZERO means ZERO, not 2.6, not 3.1, not 1.9, not 1.89, just a plain ZERO meters dammit.

It's Zero +/- like 3k i think. It could be worse, we could be forced to warp to 15. :P

No, it doesn't. If you don't have citadels on either your overview or your brackets, you cannot right click and warp to them, it says approach and says you're too far away to approach. Go and try it before spouting off nonsense.

That is probably because you are on grid with an inaccessible structure that is further away than 5,000 kilometers. In their infinite wisdom, a while back CCP switched warp to and approach around in the right click menu when something is on grid but thousands of kilometers away. Would you mind sharing a screenshot of the situation? I tested it with several inaccessible citadels and an overview without citadels showing up and could always warp to them.

I can assure you that it's got nothing to do with grids. The bookmark is perfectly warpable ONLY when Citadels are on overview or brackets (This is important, having it on at least one makes it warpable, they have to be missing from both) and refuses to warp when without. I will work on getting some screenshots if you want. The reasons I haven't submitted a "bug report" is because there is no way this hasn't been reported on in the past year and even if it had, it's clear CCP don't bother looking at Bug Reports.

Not sure whats happening with you but i never have citadels on overview, and i have a tab that doesn't have them as a bracket. the main way i warp to citadels is by right clicking in space and going down to structures.

So I just figured out that if you swap to an overview tab with citadels on brackets or overview citadels become warpable on all overview tabs

May I recommend that someone write this up as a bug report and submit it with reproduction steps starting from login because this sounds like one of those weird things no one is ever going to catch without a detailed bug report.

Dude. You are flinging a hunk of metal large enough to be measured in KM in size. Faster than the speed of light and trying to hit a single point in an infinite void.

Frankly the fact that you generally land within 100km of your intended target is a miracle.

I too have noticed a variety of situations in which I am unable to use the right-click Warp To (or Dock) to a citadel. It gives me some message about 2500 kms, or something, even thought the structure is significantly further away than that.

This sounds messy as hell. I'll play around with this tomorrow.

Edit
yeah tested this, cannot warp to citadels using right click menu unless i have them on a bracket/overview.

while not specifically what the OP is asking for, Citadels warp in point shouldn't be on the edge of the circle.... it should be there in the middle of that big undock 0. Yes I can make my own BM, but it just makes sense....
