Playing around in EFT... The Paladin seems to be a good (albeit a bit expensive) ship for C4/C5 WH sites. Could anyone recommend me a decent fit or two. Not TOOOOOO blingy of Course.

my advise: don't.

Bastion locks you in place for a minute. This is A Bad Thing(tm) that will get you killed sooner or later.

One of the corps I was in had a group of 4-6 guys that would marauder c4/c5's twice as week for ages.

As I understood it marauder farming was all about refitting. Since bastion now causes a weapons timer, which stops you from refitting, this is probably not so good.

You can still use rattlesnakes with cap transfers and active tanks. They are cheaper but you need to multibox. If you want to kill the drifter lure him to an astrahus that you set up "correctly" and blast him.

Well if you live in WH space you will die sooner or later no matter the ship you fly, its just a mater of how often and how much ISK you make in the mean time . A Paladin is one of a hand full of ships (Snake + Marauders ) that can solo C4s and I think Marauders are the only class that can solo C5s (Snakes can do it in Pairs but there DPS and Application is low).

Also in C5s you are pointed half the time anyway so bastion or no you are screwed (unless you have a MJD)


This is my old C4 fit (offline probes in the empty high), Convert to C5 fit b dropping the MJD and a TC for more regen. Drop a DPS mod for a DC2 (Was not required when OGB was a thing) if required and maybe faction the recharges if you are solo.

You can do a C4 Barracks in 11-13 minutes with a few cheapish implants and skill (no Mag required) which is 2-4X less than a Snake and unlike a snake it can easily do the other C4 sites as well.

Never had to refit in a site with the fit above C4 or C5 (teams of 2 for C5s, did not require the DC2 then but hat was before OGB went away so its most likely required now)

That being said If you have 4-5 pilots there was way better things to fly than a Paladn for C5s, The best I could fine was Armor Snakes and Nestors with an EOS as drone bunny and links (Team of 2,2,1 was the optimal for killing the drifter)

Just that if you want to Solo there are very few options and the paladin is the best of them.
