Any individual who attacks and kills an asset, Ship or Structure, in High Sectors should have to pay the owner compensation with interest to get back in the system. If they do not do that, they will be fired upon sight by concord, because they are criminals.

It is a problem in the game, people are just purchasing cheap destroyers and killing my mining ships in high sectors, and doing it over and over again. They kill hundreds of million dollars worth, even more, and just lose a 1 million or so dollar worth of destroyer ship+equipment. Us miners are paying a huge price for this tactic in High sector.

ship ganking is a feature of the game.

if your mining ships are being destroyed THAT often, then simply move to a quieter area of space.
high-sec is large, there are plenty of quiet, out of the way corners that see only a few visitors a day, move to one of those and you should be able to mine in peace.

This is an intended use of mechanics, CCP have even tweaked things in the past to moderate the ISK lost vs gained, and took this into account when they rebalanced the Mining Barges and Exhumers. The answer here is to tank your mining ship.

If you need tips on how to do this so that you'll stop getting ganked I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

If you're getting killed over and over again you are doing something wrong - perhaps choosing maximum yield instead of maximum tank. I ran a multibox ice mining fleet in highsec for months with no losses - and CODE. lives in the ice belts. I just made sure I was the least attractive target.

It's high security space or highsec for short.

Have you considered either fitting some tank, or buying a mining permit?

Comedy option: have you considered simply not being in highsec?

I see you lost a venture, in HS, to a wartarget.... HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN!
you must have known you where at war, so you should have been watching local, there is no reason you shouldn't have been in warp before they even hit the belt.

Sorry Op,
NO you need to get this idea out of your head.

And t1 destroyer hull might cost 1 million isk, but to fit it properly and usually mirrored by more of the same.....your hundreds of millions is not being lost to 1 million equipment used. Its much higher than that. Think you better go start ganking yourslef and learn the concept.

In fact, the best way to know how to beat ganking is to go learn ganking yourself.

Do yourself one MASSIVE favor now. Drop both these threads, and go to the help channels or horde or karma fleet public channels or anywhere where there are a few people who know a thing or a half about this game and learn about the game.

To the OP: A quick search of your killboards indicates that you recently lost a very poorly fit Mackinaw to, I'm guessing, suicide gankers in hisec.

The problem with this situation isn't that the gankers need to be barred from entering the system without paying restitution, the problem is that you are flying the wrong ship and/or the wrong fit. Had you been flying a tank-fit Skiff, the gankers likely would have left you alone as you'd be a much less appealing target. But if you feel you must continue flying a Mackinaw, might I suggest putting some semblance of tank on it and also being alert enough to evacuate the area when small combat ships piloted by unknown players arrive in your proximity.

I hope this information helps.

1- criminals are already KOS for empire factions.

2- protect yourself at all times. Don't fly what you cannot afford to lose. Eve is a VERY different mmo where all areas are pvp areas. Read: Not WOW in space.

3- Get help. Knowledgeable vets are the best thing for new players.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

People who are not responsible for keeping you safe in EvE:
-your friend
-your dog
-your brother
-the gankers
-CCP

People who are responsible for keeping you safe in EvE:
-you

Clearly the guy on the second list screwed up.

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!

It is people and their actions that make up the story content of eve. If you get shot, you are content for someone else, and they are content for you. It comes down to who is smart, who is prepared and who is alert. You were content for someone, and I bet you made them laugh, just as everyone does when you post your ideas here.

Thank you for a good chuckle in the morning.

Get some Eve. Make it yours.

OP, EVE is not the right game for you.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

OP, just laugh at them. They aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. I never got the whole concept myself If your dead your dead whether some ganker killed you or Concord killed you they are just as dead as you are. Kind of stupid if you ask me. Dock up get in your back up and head back out it will take them longer to get back to there back up ganker ship.

Except that happens only when they travel in hs with autopilot. They can and do move freely in highsec because its not a concord and sentry guns at gate who attacks them but a faction police that has some arrival time. They can still dock into any station and they still can undock at citadel and stay there for hours with invulnerability.

Heavy criminals should not be able to dock at stations in highsec and should not receive the citadel immunity in highsec either - even if its their own citadel. If they want to have these options there are the clone soldier tags - currently they are abusing this mechanics and stay -9.9 in highsec all the time with all the options as non-criminal except one - stay at gate for longer duration (for which they use alts anyway).

EDIT: oh and they should not get free rookie ship either.
