What type of ore should I mine if I'm in highsec?

Hello, I've been playing eve for a little while now

Was wondering what is the best ore to mine in highsec? I'm into mining and also exploration, and I was wondering what the best ore to mine is.

Whichever one pays the best. Compare the price/m3 of the buy orders you're willing to fill, and mine the highest.

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!

It all depends. There is not a one size fits all answer to every question in eve. "Which ore to mine is best" is one of those questions. It depends on where you want to mine (the best ore near jita may not be the best ore in derelik.) An ore you can find in quantity is always better than an ore that is simply not available. The ore you can sell in your mining system (when you are new and your reprocessing skills are few) for a decent price might be more worthwhile than a load of a different ore worth a bit more in jita, but only after you have to make 20 jumps to sell it there. Omber is not all that valuable, but to a mission runner who needs it for the materials of war storyline and doesn't want to mine it themselves, then suddenly the value of that omber in that station is not a reflection of its mineral components in jita. One might choose to mine in a more remote area without much CODE. presence and mine something less valuable if it's less stressful and less interrupted.

The other general answer is that the low sec ores that pop up in high sec anomalies are probably worth going after (jaspet, etc).
In general, for now, the ores with mexallon might be worth more. Mexallon is the only high sec minerals that null sec miners can't get enough of. There is supposed to be some dependence of null sec on high sec, and mexallon is the mineral deliberately most lacking in the null sec belts (or at least relatively lacking compared to everything else).

The best ore to mine will depend on supply and demand. Right now mexallon is in short supply - the price has risen about 50% over the past few months.

The highsec ore plagioclase is a good source of mexallon - it can be mined in Gallente or Minmatar space. If you compress your ore (free at any Citadel that offers reprocessing service) it is more valuable and easier to transport. Buy orders in Jita are currently paying 7033.08 ISK for compressed plagioclase.

Can also find plag in Caldari space below 0.7 Iirc? Also worth looking out for anoms containing Jaspet as i believe this is worth more than Plag? however plag is currently worth more than most other highsec ores and most Lowsec as well?

The chances are high that you will hate the game if you only mine in high-sec.
And maybe you look into mining missions too: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1547525

juste made my ore BO prices per market :

https://pastebin.com/FmD8c5me

depending on the system security you accept to go

basically , depending on the hub you sell your ore :
Jita : azure plagioclaz (200 isk/m3)
Amarr : solid pyroxeres (167 isk/m3)
Rens : rich plagioclazz (188 isk/m3)
Dodixie : rich plagioclazz(184 isk/m3)
Hek : rich plagioclaz(192 isk/m3)

please note this is the BO of the uncompressed ore, I advice you to compress ore before bringing it to a hub and sell it @ SO, not @BO.
