Empire and Republic response to Kyonoke

While all of New Eden is watching very intriguing developments between Federation and State regarding Kyonoke containment, Amarr and Minmatar response to this crisis remains shrouded in secrecy. Scope is not investigating, and neither empire is commenting on their current efforts to contain the spread of this plague.

Does anyone know of any developments in those quarantine zones? I feel attention needs to be given to all infection sites to avoid further spread of contamination across the cluster.

Uh-- pilot? I don't want to read too much into this, but is there a specific reason you're asking this question while wearing that hat?

It can be taken to imply ... stuff. Like, "Why aren't you dying more? Inquiring minds want to know. (Plz die more.)"

If you are wearing that hat to look edgy, I will burn your hat.

If you are wearing that hat because you are edgy, I will burn you.

The hat is simply loot gathered from defending New Eden against Blood Raiders' attacks during the Blood Harvest. It was a reminder of a successful operation and a personal call to vigilance against future attacks. No disrespect was intended and the hat was now removed to properly reflect the current crisis that is spreading across the four empires.

My concern for lack of information regarding the two quarantine zones is genuine. I believe they should be investigated more thoroughly before the official SoCT inquest begins.

Oh! I see. ... I actually do something a little similar. Gods, it was like the Blood Raiders invented the Cold Iron very-briefly-stealth coating just for me! Those don't have the Blood Raiders insignia on, though.

Well-- the Amarr quarantine zone is actually inside an SoCT station. I am a little curious what the actual methods in use to keep it contained there are, though.

(How do we stop keep it confined to a few decks inside a large, capsuleer-accessible station with so much confidence we don't even have to shut down docking facilities? Inquiring minds really do want to know about that.)

If you don't want that hat... can I have it? I'll wear it too... no disrespect...

So, apparently hats are now indicative of peoples political and social views. Next, someone will surely accuse me of being Amarr because my dress has gold trim?

I don't believe there has been anything officially said by the Empire or Republic.

As far as I am aware, there has been no official news from the Republic Security Service regarding the situation in Muttokon, ever since the information of towing the station to a high orbit to ensure quarantine. I am unsure if kin of those on the station has been kept up-to-date, but considering the almost complete lack of reliable grapevine information, I find that too unlikely.

The total blockade of information is a reason for concern.

And here I thought the total blockade of information was indicative of perfectly reasonable security measures to avoid baddies getting their hands on blah hurflleblargh and whlarghle etc. Need to know and all that? Do we need to know now, but not back then?

Anyway, Muttokon remains exactly the same for capsuleers. Nothing new to report, which I'm getting kind of tired of saying. Don't get me wrong, nothing would be better for the people involved if the Containment and Staging center turns out to have been a total waste of money and effort, but it's starting to become unreasonable to see no activity at all in Muttokon.

It's been weeks, Miz. We don't need to know stuff we don't need to know, but something would be nice.

This whole thing started with a media blackout, but it's just kind of going on and on. Some kind of indication as to where things are at might not be a terrible, security-compromising thing.

Could of course be need-to-know.

We all likely have tribeswomen and -men on the station, so if it was just "people are dying", I'd think we'd deserve to know. Also, at this point of a Kyonoke epidemic, it would hardly be a surprise.

So the question becomes, obviously, what is it that only those who absolutely need can know?

By this time, the unfortunate souls aboard that elevator in Muttokon are almost certainly all dead.

While the exact details of what happened, may be a security concern, the fact that everyone is dead should not be, and if the relatives of the quarantined people are having the information of their loved ones death withheld from them, then that is particularly cruel.

But that's just my opinion of course.

Feel free to share my opinion. I have plenty of them.

Just to clarify: I do not (as far as I know) have kin on station myself, so I cannot with confidence state whether they have been informed or not. I am merely speculating from the fact that I have not seen anything about it in the news. I am mostly in Metropolis and the Wildlands these days, though, not Molden Heath, so maybe there's been something on local news.

Being one of Faiftful is not an accusation, it is an honor!
