That is still deflation. The idea of a natural price, by the way, is bullshit.

Quote:
In anycase, income from PvE is related to other issues than the value of isk.

HS Incursion income is too high for the HS Concord environment and HS icebelts are too bountiful/frequent in the same.

Fine, but if you are going to remove that source of ISK creation in the face of deflation find some other source of ISK to buff to make up for it. Simply removing it would be, IMO, a mistake. I doubt that will sway you, but deflation is bad. Exhibit 1: The Great Depression.

1) Yes, its deflation. And you know what I meant by "naturalizing" in a colloquial sense.
Im not an economist.

2) Sure. For example HS Drone Sigs could use a bounty increase, as they otherwise lack significant drops or materials of any substantial value to the market (alloys).

Prices "naturalizing" is meaningless. Inflation and deflation are largely due to changes in the money supply. And deflation means that you can increase your purchasing power by simply not spending. That is your purchasing power tomorrow is greater than it is today. The idea of some sort of natural or ideal price is meaningless. Prices are largely subjective because value in economics is largely subjective. You hate beets, I like them. You won't buy them at a given price whereas I will. Subjective.

Just make sure the changes are offsetting which will be hard because it is not clear that incursion runners will just shift over to the other options. This is what makes economics hard. It is not a mechanical/engineering process. It is a process that includes people who can and will do things you did not anticipate. For example, if a percentage of incursion runners simply quit not only will you lose the ISK creation those players entail you'll get a one time decrease in the money supply as the ISK i their wallets is permanently lost from the economy.

Trying to balance these things is, IMO, impossible.

Doesnt this indicate more isk is generated in EVE, than destroyed?

So we are in inflation, not deflation, at this moment?

No. Go look at the price indices. The PPI and the like.

Here is the 3 year indices.

http://cdn1.eveonline.com/community/MER/Feb_2017/9d_economy.indices.short.png

The PPI, the CPI, and the MPI are all declining with the SPPI being flat.

And here is the charts for the money supply,

http://cdn1.eveonline.com/community/MER/Feb_2017/9b_isk.float.3.png

Edit: Oh and CCP Quant uses a chained Laspeyres index...and index with a known upwards bias. Thus the deflation is almost surely understated. I'd recommend that CCP switch to a superlative index such as the Törnqvist index which treats price increases and decreases symmetrically.

Still waiting on that deflation figure.

You made the claim deflation is occurring.
So can you please substantiate that?

I don't know, all CCP Quant provides are the graphs vs. the actual numbers behind the graphs. But the point still stands, there is deflation in the economy at the moment.

CCP Quant's graph again.

http://cdn1.eveonline.com/community/MER/Feb_2017/9d_economy.indices.short.png

MPI trending down since May 2016.
CPI trending down since January 2016.
PPPI trending down pretty much since May 2015 with a brief upswing in the first half of 2016, returning to a downward trend.
SPPI trending up July 2016.

So 3 out of 4 measures of inflation say: deflation.

Eyeballing the chart for the MPI the MPI has decreased by about 21-22%. So the monthly rate is about 2.2%.

If you have a pile of minerals sitting around...sell, sell, sell before the price drops another 2.2%

I don't believe wardecs have any place in eve really, they serve no purpose. If I'm a highsec corp then wardecs interrupt my regular gameplay. If I'm a lowsec corp they don't affect me. If I'm a nullsec corp they help intercept goods, but only because those goods skip right by lowsec. A WH corp again is unaffected, worst case use out of corp haulers. Really it only is used to go after easy kills under the safety of highsec mechanics. People often say, players will go where the risk is lowest, well gankers should look in the mirror. The economy is not so sensitive that ganking has much effect.

Now of course, HS has more targets and easy access to them but is it good for the game that so much is concentrated in highsec? Remove wardecs and replace with some form of kill right style mechanic for corps. Structures would need to be exempt from concord response since without wardecs they would be untouchable, but really what busines is it of the police how your deathstar fares.

Anti-war Patrols

Let individual players sign up for anti-war activities, allowing them to freely attack any aggressor corporation in any war in new eden

Make registration for this last 24hrs or something, so they have to keep re-registering for it, but once they've enabled it they are stuck with it for a day.

These players should be attackable by any corporation at war, regardless of if they are aggressor or defender corp.

Re-Bribe Concord:
Wardecs are a bribe to concord to look the other way. Let the defender corp re-bribe concord to end the war early. Maybe allow each side to bid on their bribe, whoever can offer concord the most, gets their way.

Remove concord:
get rid of concord and wardecs completely. Just rely on criminal timers and stargate/station defense guns. Let players form concord-style corporations to defend against criminals. Anti-code corporations would be tons of fun. Maybe add some weakish remote-repair turrets at each gate/station to help victims and give defense pilots some time to respond. Maybe stations/gates have a PANIC-like function to protect freighters and haulers etc for a limited time while player defense can arrive.

Criminal Response Bridges in some (concord?) systems, which can open bridges to PANIC'd highsec'ers. allowing players to jump directly into battle as if they were concord themselves.

Limit Concord: concord only responds if there are many attackers. Any single player who's comitting criminal acts are ignored and let the players deal with them. Only send concord if theres a giant criminal gang

Use Faction Police Instead Instead of concord, just send faction police. Depending on your standings with that faction, they might not arrive at all! Or you might get preferential treatment if you're highly respected in their faction.
Allowing Faction Warfare to change highsec sov would make this even more interesting.

Cheaper wardecs based on location: Let me wardec a corporation for cheaper, in specific constellations or systems. The higher security systems would be full-price but the lower security systems would be discount. This would let smaller gangs / solo wardecs exist, by reducing the cost of them, while giving balance to that cheaper wardec with a limited battlefield

just cos you dont like the ideas doesnt make them stupid. I'd love to completely get rid of concord and replace it with players.

I used to play a Shadowdancer/Sorcerer in a neverwinter nights pvp server. I'd cast Wail of Banshee in the middle of town, killing 5 or 6 newbies instantly. The guards were easily dispatched with Finger of Death or another Wail.
But that wasn't really fun. The reason i did it is because immediately afterwards, several other players would start hunting me. Monks would login and start patrolling the areas. Shapeshifter Druids in Dragonform would block the entrances to some good hiding places. I'd try my best to pick one off if i could get one alone but usually i'd end up running for my life and getting clobbered by a bunch of them. It was a ton of fun.

Before that i played on a hardcore PVP MUD. You could literally teleport lower players from anywhere in the server directly infront of you and gank them. But again. It wasnt the guards i had to watch out for. It was all the good players who would start hunting me for doing it.
The MUD i played on would even allow players to ascend to demigods, giving them the ability to instantly slay any player in the server. You think it would be abused but it wasnt, because they knew if they abused it, the other demigods would slay their followers as well. So you'd end up with what were essentially players with god abilities, who were moderated by the player base themselves. If a god was abusing players and making the server ******, players would stop worshiping him, and the other demigods would devour him

the player-as-police concept is extremely fun and completely unused in major games. you only really find it in MUDs and maybe a modded custom gameserver.

War decs are a way to impose risk and yes, disrupt the normal operations of a HS corp. If anything, that has gotten harder not easier. Targeted war decs used to be a thing. Who knows maybe they will again with citadels and the like, but we'll have to wait and see.

And yes, it is, IMO, good for the game. Having more content and game play in HS is what we want and, again IMO, that includes game play that is non-cooperative like war decs. Turning HS in to farmville is not a good thing.

I like the ideas but I think they're stupid.

Except for the cheeper wars one, that's got some leggings,
But only because the current cost scale makes absolutely no particular sense.

1) wars are an alliance/Corp level tool, not an individual one, you want in, incorporate.

2) you can already "nope" out of war, we don't actually need to have a button for it thanks.
