Skills reset (expected that)

T1 and T2 largest mining barge gone

39,511,000 skill points, but only 5,376,000 unallocated -- does that mean it trained stuff that I didn't have before and don't want? (like Galente frig maxed) I am Amarr

It looks like I have to be Omega in order to have full skills again. No other F2P mmo does this.

Yes, you have to pay to access the full game. Or you can play for free, but are restricted in what skills can be used.

The unallocated SP is most likely from when CCP removed a few skills and they refunded the skill points so you could use them elsewhere.

This is not a F2P mmo system - alpha status gives you access to a limited amount of skills.

Also welcome back to Eve.

I highly suggest you sub your account so your character can access all of it's Omega Clone skills and equipment. Alpha Clone status is great for new players but returning players who have high skilled characters should just pay the sub. In my opinion having your Omega Clone restricted to Alpha Clone status will just make the game less enjoyable.

Anyway, hope you have a long and rewarding career this time in Eve.

unallocated SP comes when they remove skills and isn't something they do often. the 5mil sounds a lot like the learning skills which got removed. I can't remember off the top of my head what else got removed.

Along with the Learning skills I believe CCP also reimbursed some SP's when they split up Battlecruiser and Destroyer skills.

They definitely reimbursed SP's when they removed the secondary Agent Divisional LP social skills.

Also there was a few times they gave extra SP's to everyone when the server bugged out.

bc/dessy changes just got applied straight to the char sheet.

ah right the agent connection skills, I got a bunch of SP back for that, had 3 or 4 of those to 5 and only had to dump 2 of them into the new security connections book.

and I think I had 100-200k sp from sever things although that would only go to active accounts.

Alpha clone status is more like an unlimited trial rather than an actual F2P. Eve is a subscription based and hopefully always will be. If you are looking for an actual F2P game Eve is not it.

Aside from an unlimited duration trial, the alpha clone status allows players who left the game for long periods of time a chance to get back in the game and check up on old friends and new mechanics etc... to see if the game is worth subbing.

Yeah, that happened for most players who trained up the necessary skills prior to the skill change. However CCP also accounted for players who didn't.

If, for some odd reason, you have Destroyers and/or Battlecruisers skills, but have no Racial Frigate/Cruiser 3 at all, then the skill points will be moved in the free allocation pool when the old skills are removed.
