I want to talk with you about the new Size of the Asteroids.

To be honest: i think it´s a kind of indirekt nerf. If you go 0 to the Asteroid with a Ship it bumps away (my oppinion).
But the kind that sucks me off is the thing that every kind of drone need more time to surround the asteroid. The result is that every Kind of Drone will be later in the Drone Bay and the Yield goes down (Drone is full and needs to fly back to the Ship who launched it)

I know that the Excavator Drones were way to strong for ccp. But i think that this was a nerf of the Porpoise, ORCA and the Rorqual.

TBH: Do you think that the RISK/REWARD of a Rorqual is still ok? It looses 50% Mining Yield (feeled) since rework and has longer flight time.

Are you ok with that?

Most guys I know wouldn't complain about getting sucked off.

I understand what you're saying. Year after year CCP has shown us their answer to most everything is to either nerf it into oblivion or just ignore it completely.

Unfortunately other than voice our opinions, we just have to roll with the changes.

Like all things eve, especially new content, it has to eventually get 'balanced' (nerfed). Tho you can compensate.
The drone nav-computers never felt more important.

Per this response from the feedback thread the size changes were factored into the yield changes to the Rorqual, so no this wasn't an indirect nerf it was intended.

Quote:
The impact on drone mining is expected and we did our internal practical yield testing with the new asteroid sizes to make sure that the resulting m3/hour were something we'd be happy with.

Also from some testing in that thread, you can sacrifice some tank on a Rorqual to get a bit more yield on larger rocks by fitting Drone Navigation Computers.

Is it improving microwarpdrive speed of drones? Do mining drones have microwarpdrives too?

Why are you going to 0 of them? The ship keeps coasting and runs into the asteroids and thus bounce off. Your ship will do this with everything else not just asteroids.

Asteroid belts in EVE are far away from reality.

I really want to mine in planetary rings.

That is a VERY good idea! Planetary rings= small rocks & dust. Maybe one could find some other things besides the usual stuff in those rings? ->CCP please?? Idea

Excavators do in fact get a speed boost from Drone Navs, as well as from the Industrial Core. You can see this in game if you have a Rorqual or in the Ship Simulate function if you don't. Load up the Rorqual with Drone Navs, put Excavators in the Drone Bay, and right click Show Info on the drones. You'll see their new speed in green.
