can we have comets for mining please; maybe make them like a rare anomaly spawn / rich resource spot where people would pvp and kill eachother

also maybe have them moving through space, and the miners would need to have a good afterburner to be able to follow them or they will get out of range

Comets are big balls of fire and rock, no? I could be wrong but common sense suggests otherwise. They also travel at obscenely fast speeds. This would make it unfeasible and flat out silly to mine a comet.

yeah would be awesome to just be flying around and a stray comet slams into the side of my ship.. turning it into space dust

First, no they are not fire and rock. They're loosely packed ice and dust.

Second, they would be traveling in an orbit to which you could match and essentially be at zero relative velocity without the need for further propulsion.

Third, CCP doesn't even try to do orbital mechanics with anything in EVE, so this whole 'obscenely fast' nonsense is moot to begin with.

That being said, since physics has gone out the window already with this game, I like the idea of having to burn after it slightly while mining; the only hurdle is that CCP hasn't made sites where objects are moving away from the beacon.

As a special event type of content, it's not a bad idea. Sort of spawn them the way Incursions are spawned. Make them valuable enough to fight over, but not so common that they are farm-able. It could be a version of 'Incursions for miners' content. Make it so the various NPC pirate factions are also interested in the loot and spawn much tougher rats than just mining ships with drones can handle- requiring actual escort.
