Carrier ratting!

So as the title states i'am training to rat in a carrier. My question is... Wich of the carriers offer best protection against possible hotdrop? And is there even any chance to survive 10-15 ppl gang?

None of them. Depends on the gang, but if you get hot-dropped by a Revenant (like I did), chances are slim. Very, very slim...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Best to just go with the best carrier for Ratting, since the change of surviving is marginal between the ships you might as well make as much isk as possible before you die.

Still carry a PVP fit . Couple of MTUs, More tank, cap booster, Stabs ect.

Ive been simulating between armor tanked thanny and shield tank chimera. Both being either double or triple repped with ok tank. Well guess only time will tell

I belive the two most popular for ratting are the Thanatos and Nidhoggur due to the fighter bonuses.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

So ive heard! My idea is to fit it for pvp and perhaps after a month make a tiny roam with it and crash few gatecamps. Atm i dont have too much experience with pvp. Ive been tackled only few times therefore i still have plenty of time to learn the encounters

Well i will definitely give someone nice KM. Im only after the fun factor! Hence ill first rat with it to make some isk to replace the loss.
And there is no way to learn other than failing 😃

How to avoid hotdrops: Don't be there when they try to drop you.
Intel channels help with knowing who is near; if you don't have this luxury you'll need alts and friends in nearby systems to see who is coming.
Still paranoid? Align while ratting to a safe location which is either a 1) POS, 2) Citadel, 3) Station (assuming there's no bubbles here and you have a 0 dock bookmark.)
Make sure the align path doesn't intersect with collideables.
Having your fighers easy to pull in is a bonus but who cares about fighters if your whole ship is at risk? (for T2 fighters more significant cost to leave behind than T1)

My answer is thus: Carrier doesn't matter; YOU matter.

Jesus, don't put reppers on a ratting carrier. (one armor rep is ok on an armor carrier)

Depends what system you rat in, if you list the systems you most commonly rat in and the eve time i can offer you some suggestions re carriers to use, thx.
