Basilisk for Incursions

I am hoping to train to basilisk to fly incursions mainly because I already am going for Caldari cruiser 5. I logi'ed as Osprey in many fleet actions already.

Given the long training lag between logi 4 and logi 5, i was wondering what are my chances of getting into incursion fleets as a logi 4 basi?

Also, i read scimitar seems to be favored due to its tracking links which further seems to reduce my chances of getting fleets.

Is there any reasonable chance as a newbro basi logi 4 and eventually logi 5 to consistently get into incursion fleets?

It is important for me to know because if the priority for my entry is too low, I might as well not train it.

dunno about priorities.

but if you enjoy flying basi as logi and nobody calls you for a fleet doing incursions... then...
create your own fleet with people you like and do incursions with them^^

problem solved.

Unfortunately I don't have the connections nor the willingness to try organize such fleets.

I aim to fly with existing established incursion groups (TVP, warp to me incursions etc)

So any input on getting into those groups as a basi logi would be appreciated.

in minimun skill requirements it's listed lvl 4 logis

elsewhere is specified that FC can decide to call one person on the list respect another one depending on their preferences.
aka become an FC friend and you are good to go

finally i've watched some TVP incursions stream here and there, sometimes!
and actually logi role is the only one which it happened to be needed during those streams
it could be the TZ with only a few online or the wrong day... but yea..
logi seems a nice role with small waiting time.

i suggest you to enter in contact with someone from one of those groups you want be part of!

Never not a Basilisk!
Cap transfers are highly appreciated and I even know of one incursion group that lists their "doctrine" Basilisk fit in the MOTD.

And even if you train minmatar later in your EvE life, logistics opens the skill for all 4 of them regardless.

The only thing I don't like about the Basilisk is that you cannot make a good single-logi fit that keeps you alive long enough like a scimitar would.
Unless you put some blue modules on.

Hu! There is one purple mod that I would like to have on there but for that price I can make 51 solo-Basilisks.

1. Depends on the group. With logi lvl4 your chance is close to zero. WTM would be best option though.

2. Depends on the group. For Vanguards no chance, Assaults they may use 1-2 Basi, In HQs WTM tend to take the next logi on the waitlist regardless of type, TVP tend to use 3 Basi and the rest of the logi scimi (~6). As a scimi you would have a better chance getting into a fleet as both logi4 and as logi5 in the future.

After the module tiericide and logi rebalance, Logistics V is pretty much a requirement if you want to run a Logistics Cruiser with 4 large T2 repair modules with stability. You can meta the modules, or run a 3+1 (1 medium) however. Blue medium modules are a thing, but your range will be less.

Hey I was being sarcastic. You should know that you don't want to increase your signature radius like that. The small radius and the afterburner are your "tank".

Both the core defense field extenders and the Caldari Navy Shield Extender increase your signature radius like there is no tomorrow, that's why I proposed a mwd to further increase the very value that could keep you alive.

The right place for you to ask would be on the public channels of the Incursions communities themselves and mainly since you are trying to fly basi or scimi you have to ask WTM (WarpTto Me, more new player friendly) and TVP (The Valhalla project).
Both communities have their own fiting pages in which they have acceptable fits posted.
As for the scimi or basi question FCs preffer to have a good mix of both ships and especially with logi 4 basi is not exactly ideal, since it needs to be caped by 2 other basi, to be stable but the scimi fit is cap stable anyway.
However both communities will accept you (and train you) even with logi 4 but get logi 5 as early as possible.

FC pal isnt always the way to go, some will see it as favoritism and invite others to try to level the playing field.
L4 logi is accepted, there are occasions where when there is a WL and an FC needs a more experienced logi or one that has the better skills to refit differently to help the fleet that thy may go for a level 5 or something.

But as a level 4 get your ship fitted and go for it, do what you can to make yourself stand out as a good logi, learn Basi LC etc make you more valuable a logi than the level 4's next to you while you train logi 5 and invest in your ship.
