a few things that need looking at .if you want to keep more alphas in the game.are a few thoughts .

tutorial is a must and cannot be skipped , also from start no npc corps to join has to be corps by isd csm ccp devs and the veterns , so at least thier be just 1 chat 1 corp full of the veterns . all in a place where they cant be killed by other players .a remote place far far away in a you know the rest .perhaps a spare wormhole in starting areas .

when they have passed thier tutorial stage then move to elsewhere ,if they are used to having ship blown up in arena then can be let into the starting areas, and hopefully they have a better game experience and should not get the rage and quit the game ,this i belive will keep many of the new players .

voice comms all good games has them , this being probally the best sandbox game there is .

and in a age of info ,wheres the web site with all the wonderfull info , you have to go on many outdated sites to find what you are looking for , at least have link so have easier acess .

also with new players there could be in fittings a complete list of all the t1 alpha ships fitted with civilian modules ,with fittings for pve and pvp and labeled as such ,so at least they know roughly when they start to get better skils and isk they can upgrade them.

tutorial needs some form of pvp from the word go like a arena for of corvetes all with civilian modules make it a mission ,so all new players learn game is pvp as well . tutorial is all about pve , game was made for pvp and you have no tutorial for new pilots to get used to it , facepalm .

i know much of this stuff would take time to do ,but overall it i think is sound buisness model for further growth .

That's the worse idea I've seen. There is absolutly no reason at all to fit any civilian instead of a cheap t1/meta. Besides, civilian modules are really more expensive for overall stats that sucks. IMO, they shouldn't even exist anymore with all the base skills we have after character creation

Also, on one hand i understand what you want to say, but on the other hand, it's not a good idea.
- there is already a channel every new player join: the rookie channel, where isd's and vets players already help a lot.
- voice comms are good, yes, but not everyone want, can, or even like to be in voice comms. Everything for it is already here and around, but the willingness of players is the key.

About link, i don't think CCP will endorse third party wiki/websites (there are some exception, like the uni wiki).

For pvp, i don't agree with you. The tutorial is not meant (IMO) to learn pve or pvp, it's meant to learn to master the basics of the game smoothly, so new players won't be lost once they are fully in the game. The basics, either in pve or pvp, are the same, once you know them, you know them for both activity (which doesn't either mean you will be good).
So no, there is no sense of making a "small pvp arena" (which won't happen anyway, as stated many time).

- As for shooting noobs, there are already starter and tutorial systems within eve where being a **** to noobs gets you banned. The more you separate players the less they stay. The best teachers in the game are other players. You want new players to be within reach of vets so they can personally walk them through parts of the game.

- Arenas are a nope. Like above you don't want noobs separated from their best chance of sticking with the game (vets). Arenas are a futile teaching tool because sooner or later that noob is going to leave the arena and still be completely unprepared for what can happen in a sandbox.

- Eve has a voice chat, but given the 3rd parties out there that are better in almost every way, why waste time on something few people will use?

- eve uni wiki.

- See above. And again reach out to older players. They have (or can make) fits up for you.

- Eve is a pvp game yes. But its not arena pvp. Its not 1v1. It's not fair fights. Its not confined within an instance. Its not a contest of k/d ratios or points.

Eve is a cut-throat, anything goes pvp sandbox. If you're in a 'fair' fight, someone has screwed up. Can you see how teaching noobs in an arena is going to give them the completely wrong idea?

You want noobs to stick around? Get them mixing with veteren players. Get them missioning with vets, roamining with vets, exploring with vets. It's the easiest way to break this game down into bite-size chunks and gives the noobs free money, equipment and protection at the same time.
