What is a "logical" extension of a Logistics Cruiser pilot?

Welp, through the magic of a too-quick click, a one-time Omega alt that I was planning to let lie fallow as an Alpha now enjoys an open year-long skill queue.

I'm worse than an amateur PvPer so this could be an alt that is worthy of selling someday since it was purpose-built to fly an Oneiros.

What class of ship(s) would be a logical extension or overlap of Logistics Cruisers?

Proteus comes to mind, Shares a lot of the same skills and they are often flow in the same fleets.

Recon.

You would use the same cruiser related skills and fly at some of the same ranges in battles.
Recon and Logi pilots are usually primary targets, so both need to practice up their pilot skills to be evasive and survive.

In a year you could focus on
Nav skills
Target skills
Engineering skills for Cap, CPU, Power grid.
Electronics for specific racial applications (Gallente, Caldari, etc. )
Good light drones
Good medium gunnery

These are all skills that will help any ship you ever fly

For functionality (repair): Logistics Frigates, Logistics Cruisers, and Force Auxillaries serve the same role. The only odd-ball being the Nestor (SoE battleship). Multi-purpose T3 cruisers can serve the roll with a very limited range.

For skills (medium-sized hulls):
* Cruisers (T1, navy, faction)
* Combat Recon & Force Recon
* Heavy Assault Cruiser (HAC)
* Heavy Interdictor (HIC)
* Strategic Cruiser (T3)
* Battlecruisers (T1 = Combat & Attack, navy, faction)
* Command Ships (T2 Battlecruisers)

Medium-sized hulls are actually the largest category of ships in EvE. Odd-balls are Attack Battlecruisers, which use large-sized weapons; all the rest use medium-sized weapons, or medium-sized weapons that fire small ammo.

This probably would have helped.

I sheepishly note that this is a character I will likely never be able to fly credibly beyond L1 missions...live and learn.

Thanks to all for the input. Greatly appreciated!

Well all you really need is a few DPS related skills and you are pretty much set. Tank, Cap and Nav are pretty much max.

Maybe a few extra drone skills, the ones you have a max but you are missing things like Drone Avionics/Advanced, Drone Nav ect which are all very nice to have. (Lvl4s in those would help your whore drones a lot. and a quick train)

that is a very solid core skillset you have going there. really just Weapons Upgrades V and Advanced Weapons Upgrades V *missing*..... You have Advanced Spaceship Command V already, so some Jump skills are all that's between you and the FAX of your choice...

pick what you want to do.

The other T2 cruisers. Whichever fleet role appeals to you or that you see used in a lot of your fleets. HICs are a personal favorite but Recons are a lot of fun as well, especially if your corp does BLOPs. If PvE is more your thing, then several HACs are worth looking at.

T3's are pretty powerful and with a mobile depot- incredibly versatile. Travel-fit they can get around with little risk, and then swapped into a combat fit without needing to dock. If you are looking more at PvE, then getting into a T3 is an alternative to moving into battleships and having to train large weapon skills.

Cross training into another race's cruiser line is another option. That opens up pirate faction ships which are often some of the best ships in the game. Rattlesnakes, Gilas, etc are thick as fleas these days.

You can get a ton of mileage out of the cruiser class.

I appreciate all the input so far.

An important clarification. For many reasons this character is likely one that I will sell in a year for a competitive price. Therefore the question to "what will I do with it?" is probably irrelevant. I was young and foolish when I started Eve and did not understand what I was getting myself into. The real, in-game skills required to be a credible T2 logi pilot or FAX aren't in my purview.

Therefore, tThe accurate question is: What additional class of ship is an in-game skilled player likely to want to fly?

I've seen Recon, FAX, and T2 cruisers at-large.

An added bonus is that this char is sitting on two bonus remaps. A year-long queue for, say, a Lachesis, doesn't gain much by doing a remap now.

If you want value at sale time, you probably need to do some research in the character bazaar to see what is getting the best price, or the fastest sales.
Like any market anywhere, if there are only 3 chickens for sale, you can ask a lot for your chicken, but if a thousand chickens hit the market, you just won't be able to get top dollar any more.

That said:
Things could change, a year from now. There is no guarantee of next years value.
Specialization and focus is the best advice I could give, but as to 'what' it's just a guess.

I know predicting the future value of what somebody might want is generally futile. It will be what it will be.

However, there is meaningful convergence in this thread that has helped.

As I see it today, my two broad paths are to continue to build out a multi-cruiser character (Lachesis, Ishtar etc.) or head toward something like a Ninazu.

The only thing that really matters for bazaar sales is SP, not necessarily where the SP are spent.

Most get stripped of their SP, and the SP sold as extractors.
