New to the game, what corporation should I join?

I'm new to the game. What corporation should I join? I mainly want to play as a illuminati type character who funds wars from behind the scene.

Hello and welcome to Eve.

Funding wars is very expensive and in order to do it frequently requires a steady income. Course you could just spend real life money to buy a bunch of PLEX and sell those in Market to get the ISK needed to finance the wars.

However that's something I don't advise doing right at the start until after your character is developed and established.

About joining a Corporation, I suggest you take your time and research various Corps before actually joining one. Check out their history, fly with them and ask questions, see if they have a ship replacement program, what type of Corp Ops they engage in, their future plans, etc.. Above all else do not pay them any ISK to join their Corp.

Check out this sub-forum as a place to start looking at Corps.

Until then, I suggest you complete all of the New Player Experience (Tutorial, Career Agents and Sisters Of Eve Epic Arc). Train up your Core Fitting Skills asap and check out various career paths available here in Eve that will bring in ISK for you to work towards your goal of being an Eve Warmonger.

This game mimics real life in many ways. As such the path to your aspirations is one that would be largely hidden. I'm not saying that you can't do it. I'm just saying that you will need to find the path.

It kind of goes with wanting to manipulate things from behind the scenes. If the path were well lit it would not be "behind the scenes".
